I got this hoping to get better sound on my13 inch RCA TV in my kitchen. I am getting much better sound with this unit. It did take some adding an extension cord because there was not an outlet nearby and cord provided was a bit short. But I did get it going. I few things were confusing. The box includes the ac power and two other cables. One is a simple 3.5mm mini -plug (which I connected to the “Headphones” outlet on back of TV) the other one is called optical but I’ve never seen that kind before. There a wall mount thing too, but I’m not mounting it. The instruction mention using an HDMI cable but – guess what? – None included. So you need to get one (assuming your TV has at least 2 HDMI slots (mine only has one – used for cable TV box Yes, there is a remote but – surprise! – no batteries are included. It requires 2 AAA batteries, which you may not have around the house. To test the unit I “borrowed” two AAAs from my TV remote. I’ve scanned both the “quick start guide” (color) and “user manual” (b&w) for you to see. I found it really confusing. But I did get it hooked up. Now I did want to see how it worked with my Cell phone (which obviously has a miniscule speaker. And it worked great. Even better was hooking it up (using the mini-plug cable o my tiny Sansa clip MP3 player. I could easily fill the room with great sound (see photo). Of course – like radio, you need to be near an outlet (our use an extension cord. I’m giving this unit 4 stars (“I Like It” in Amazon’s words) because important things like batteries and HDMI cables are not included, And, honestly, the instructions are confusing. We like the size and basic sound quality of this product. However, if you turn it up loud there is sometimes a vibration noise which is annoying. Basically a decent product for the price.

I would have given this product 5 start except for the fact that the set up instructions are so sketchy. Instructions for items made in China are often hard to understand, these seemed to leave a lot out that would have made installation easier. More than I expected from a 16-inch inexpensive soundbar. This soundbar enhances our TV experience by providing a very crisp sound with a dynamic range of tones from bass to treble. However, I am well over 75 and my hearing response isn’t what it was when I was 25 so I really can't attest to the 80Hz to 16KHz frequency response claim in the owner’s manual. I can only say that I am impressed. The unit can be either wall mounted or with its low profile, it will fit nicely under a table-mounted TV screen. The soundbar may be operated via pushbuttons on its local control panel or through a handheld remote control. In addition to a wireless Bluetooth mode, connectivity can also be achieved through one of four separate input ports: AUX (via a 3.5mm jack), USB, SPDIF (optical), and HDMI ARC. Installation is pretty much straightforward, however, if your sound source has multiple outputs, in some cases you may have to program the sound source to select the output that will be connected to the soundbar. To facilitate the AUX and SPDIF ports, optical and 3.5mm cables are included. The input port may be selected by four pushbuttons on the remote control or by sequencing a single Mode pushbutton on the local control panel. When the soundbar is first powered up it will default in the Bluetooth mode, Subsequently, turning on the unit either via the remote control or the local control panel, the soundbar will remember its last input mode setting. When an input mode is selected a confirmation voice is heard from the soundbar identifying the selection and the color of the LED pilot light on the local control panel will change. Separate treble and bass push buttons are provided on the remote control. In addition, tone presets for the bass and treble response may be selected via MOVIE, MUSIC, and DIALOG pushbuttons on the remote control. As said earlier because of my age these tone adjustments are subtleties that by and large escape me. For optimum performance, it is recommended to use the HDMI ARC port. However, my TV did not have an HDMI ARC out port, so I use the SPDIF optical connection. If the optical cable is used one should be aware that clear-color plastic protective caps are placed at each end of the cable. These caps are small and may be overlooked, so be sure to remove the caps before connecting the cable to the soundbar and your audio source. I also play the soundbar off of my smartphone via the Bluetooth air interface and was very impressed with how easy it was to connect and the rich fidelity of the music. When listening to music via Bluetooth or any other audio source, left and right pointing arrow pushbuttons on the remote control allow previous and next music selection. At this time, I have no reason to connect the AUX or USB ports. But, judging from the performance quality of this system, I have every reason to believe that interface with these ports would yield the same performance. ... show more

I like the soundbar a lot, but the remote stopped working almost immediately. Nothing I tried revived it. The only customer service contact provided was an email address. I emailed three times but never got any response whatsoever. It is too frustrating not being able to use a remote (the volume on my TV's remote won't work while the soundbar is on), so I'm returning this product. What a disappointment! ... show more

I purchased this soundbar to use with a 19" television that is in our kitchen. The TV's speakers started cracking, but the picture was still good. Of course, the soundbar sounds much better than the TV's speakers. I connected it using the HDMI (arc1) port. The soundbar turns on when the TV is turned on and the volume is controlled with the cable box remote. Excellent! ... show more

It's a nice little cheap soundbar for my TV in the bedroom. Not much bass, can't tell what volume you are on for any of the settings, and the remote control is not that great for turning on, off, or setting volumes. However- I just needed a little cheap speaker and this does ok for what I expected for a cheap price ... show more
