The bottom of the headband on my Bose QC-2 had worn badly and began flaking pieces of the black coating. I purchased this as a replacement and I’m very glad I did. It looks really good and the removal and assembly was very easy. I read that the provided screwdriver wasn’t very good but mine was great so they must have upgraded it. It’s way bigger than the plastic cutout area on the tray so it must be new(er).It took less than 5 minutes to get the old one cut off and to get this one put on. I like that it snaps on. So many of the others have a zipper that looks terrible. This one looks almost exactly like the original and the fit is great. Ordered to replace age deteriorating OEM head band on Bose QC2 headset. Anticipated some vinyl aftermarket make-do replacement, but what came was absolutely the opposite. It arrived with accurate instructions, a screwdriver of correct size and a surprisingly quality headband. Follow the instructions verbatim and you will be happy with the results. My replacement band arrived assembled, so slowly pull it apart from one end to the other. During the old headband removal you're required to cut it off with a scissors. Somewhat unnerving, but take it slow, cutting along the fwd or rear of the old band fabric and everything will be fine. Doing so helps avoid cutting the audio connection wire that runs along the center of the steel headband top. Align the lower half of the replacment with the steel headband and wire, then press the top part in place. Once reassembled, it looks as good as factory new. ... show more

I had already replaced the ear pads for my Bose QC-2s with a set I purchased directly from Bose, and was expecting to be able to buy a replacement headband as well after the rubber on the old one started to degrade, leaving sticky specks of rubber in my hair and on my white sweater. But when I contacted Bose I discovered I couldn't buy a replacement headband from them, and my only option (according to Bose) was to mail the headphones back to them to be reconditioned. I didn't really want to do that. I trusted the reviews I read on Amazon for the SOULWIT Replacement Headband Pad Kit, and they arrived in one day. It took me about 10 minutes to install with the screwdriver provided. The instructions were clear, other than, as another reviewer mentioned, they didn't mention the step about gently snapping apart the upper and lower parts of the replacement headband before installing. But thanks to the other reviewer I knew what to do. The only reason it didn't take me 5 minutes instead of the 10 minutes it did take was that I didn't exactly center the replacement headband before re-attaching the buckles. The metal frame of the headband has little indentations where the receptacles for the screws exactly fit. If the headband is not exactly centered, it will cover those receptacles on one side. When it is exactly centered, the buckles actually grip and compress the end of the headband so that there is no gap between the band and the buckle and it looks really seamless. Between the new Bose ear pads and the Soulwit headband, my headphones look like new. Still the great Bose sound--just used them for three long days in a recording studio--and I hope to get another 15 years of life out of these like-new headphones.
