This reel is surprisingly hefty, I attached it to a little 3ft rod and put some 20lb braid on it for Fishing under bridges and in heavy mangrove forests where I only need to cast a few feet and the underwater conditions are sharp. It's a little champ, I was pulling up Sheepshead after a few casts.

This is a dandy little reel that didn't quite fit the rod I had intended for it. That's on me. Otherwise, this little Daiwa clone could be the perfect light to medium reel you want without the oh my goodness price. Light but string. Great drag. Smooth retrieve. Casts awesome. Just a great reel. Caught several bass in the 5-8 pound range. Handled them with no problems. Get a good stiff rod. 7 feet. Makes a world of difference.

The sougayilang reel is Awesome! Unfortunately the 1st box was crushed due to mishandling in a paper bag?! Replacement reel was again Awesome, but box was not in pristine new condition due to how it was shipped again, in a paper bag, with no warning of being a fragile item, not to be thrown, crushed or abused!
