Much to know before ordering ! It is heavy in the box so you might need some help. To snap in the back, you might need to kick it in. Do not order if you don't have a very deep tub. Also measure that you have as much of the tub in front of you as will be required for the chair. A long tub in necessary. In an textured acrylic tub, the suction cups may not stick but it will still be stable .Do a trial run dry to make sure you are comfortable and have the room you need. It is probably best to shower elsewhere as soap scum or shampoo, shaving cream may be difficult to clean off. If you have a separate shower, clean yourself there. Use this tub as a soaking tub only so it is easy it keep clean. Even with it all the way down, it takes away about five inches of how deep you will descend. Beyond that, it is wonderful. I have cancer and so much of me aches now. Fill the tub half way and descend down. Then fill the rest of the way .So easy to go down and have it come up to get out of the tub with ease. ... show more

Used this for the first time. Assembly very easy, product works exactly as depicted. Negatives; no charger in the box, product too heavy for a disabled or elderly person to move in and out. Not a problem for us as I am neither. My wife, who has back issues , would not be able to manage it. The seller immediately responded to the no charger by shipping one the same day. Bottom line, it works very well, just be sure you can manage the in and out if you plan to move it between baths. ... show more

I bought this chair so that my mom could take baths (instead of showers) again without the fear of getting stuck in the tub. This chair is working perfectly! She weighs about 130 lbs and it goes up and down well for her. She has been using it only a couple of weeks, but loves it! There are 6 suction cups on the bottom, which I felt better about than the four on others, and it reclines as she goes down. Other notes: There is not an option to go down without reclining, but she does not see a need for that. Secondly, the connection n the cord to the remote does not have a place to hang on the chair, so we ran the cord through the headrest. I just felt better about it not being in the water. We also hung a command hook on the outside of the tub, so she has a place to hang the remote. ... show more

I've only used this three times, so I plan to come back in about 6 months and update my review, if necessary. But, for now, this thing is amazing! I can finally go back to my epsom salt baths which I had missed so much! Worth every penny! For me everything is a "pro," other than it being too heavy for me to lift on my own and the fact that it suctions to the tub so well that it is difficult for a perfectly capable adult to get it out. But technically those are good things because of its build quality. I put a towel under mine to keep it from suctioning so it could be pulled out from under me after I'm in the tub since my tub is a smaller one. Was just what my mom needed to help with taking a bath. Solved issues with getting in and out of the tub. Proper setup in the tub is important to prevent falling. Does require someone to press the buttons to lower and raise the chair. Unfortunately most caregiver services would not do. Plus it's heavy so most won't move it once setup. Still a perfect tool. Truly a bath buddy for my mom. Else she would have to take a shower which she doesn't like taking a shower ... show more

I have multiple back issues that prevent me from bending to or getting off of the floor (or out of a tub). Both the pain and muscle movement are greatly reduced/improved by soaking my hip in hot water. Showers and compresses offer little relief. FINALLY I can soak again with this bath lift chair to lift me out of the tub! The 2.5 inches it compacts to is just enough to allow the water to cover my hip which is a key point for me. After knee replacement surgery, when the surgeon gave his OK for me to return to bathing, I was thrilled. However, while doing a "dry run" to see if I could get into and out of the tub myself, I realized I needed help. Getting down into the tub was OK with the grab bars in place. Getting out was extremely difficult and took several minutes for me to figure it out. This chair has helped me safely to bathe and I so apprecite it.
