The light works well. It charges as expected with the included solar panel. The light sensor is located in the solar panel, which is a clever way to make the auto-on feature work when it's dark out. Operating the light is not intuitive, though - you'd better save the manual! The options are hard to understand and you will have to remember what mode 1, mode 2, etc. actually do. ... show more

I liked the first one of these so much I ordered another one! It has one set of LEDs and the motion sensor facing straight down. Four LED panels around the central unit tilt 90 degrees from straight down to straight sideways. This helps you make the most of the light this fixture provides. It provides plenty of light to move around and get something out of the freezer in our outside utility room. If you want light bright enough to work by, you may want to add a second fixture. The mounting bracket is designed for direct ceiling or wall mounting. I installed an eyebolt through the hole in the center of the bracket and secured it in place with two nuts. I then hung the fixture by the eyebolt from a screw eye in the ceiling. You’ll need to drill a ¾” diameter hole to run the cable to the outside 7x9” solar panel. The panel is well protected with an aluminum frame and it has a tilting steel mounting bracket. My panel only gets about an hour of full sun each day, but that has proven enough to power this efficient LED fixture for the intermittent use it gets in our utility shed. The motion sensor is quite sensitive – mine turns the light on when the freezer turns in. This was annoying at first, but then I realized it’s a nice verification that the freezer is running! There are five lighting modes including the one most of us will use where it comes on only at night when it senses motion. The mode can be selected on the unit, but the remote control makes it easy to set without getting back up on a ladder. Suggestion: attach a note to the remote to indicate the mode you want the light in so you won’t have to keep track of the instruction sheet! We have a large utility shed that does not have any electricity to it. This Solar Shed light was the perfect solution to not being able to see in there without having both big doors open. We drill a small hole in the eave on the South side where we mounted the solar panel, then ran the cable through and siliconed around it well to make it weather tight. Then we installed the light toward the back of the shed where it's the hardest to see. We tried the other settings, but decided we wanted it to stay on mode 5 - where it stays off unless it detects motion (both day and night). For now, we are keeping the remote out in the shed for convenience, but will probably bring it into the garage in the fall and winter when we don't use the shed as much. The media could not be loaded. As you can see it on my video, the light does not respond. I think the issue could be either electric light or the remote controller. Don't buy it!!!!

Performs OK, charges fast and lasts a long time on a single charge. Installation is as simple. The separated solar panel gives you the ability to locate the light in a different location than the charging panel. The remote control works well. Where the light falls a little short is it is not bright enough. It produces enough light where you won't trip over anything but not enough light to do work. I estimate the lite on the bright setting is equal to a 60-watt light bulb. But 60 watts spread over a 12x12 shed is not enough light. The other drawback is the motion sensor has a very limited range. You have to be almost directly under the light before the light will turn on. It needs to turn on when you open the shed doors. I ended up pointing the base of the light at the door and adjusting the light panels the best I could to supply light to the shed. Having the remote control is a benefit if its available when you need it, but when you need to quickly grab something from the shed. You want the light to come on when you open the doors. But in circumstances where no electricity is available. The light works. ... show more
