We purchased these to add additional light to our deck and thought we'd put them around on the post caps. They come as a pack of six. They do included the mounting hardware needed to install. They are made of plastic but do seem durable for outside use in the elements. They provide a nice subtle white light and really give off a nice overall look. They are solar powered, the on off button is on the bottom of the light. My only downside is the location of the on off switch because once it's installed you have to unmount them to switch the setting. They provide a nice cool calming lighting effect to the area. I thought these would sit down on our posts as a cap. They don’t. They sit up on the post. We didn’t like the look so I am trying them as walkway lighting on the dock. They charge up well in the daylight and last around 5-6 hours. The light is soft and works as ambient lighting. Not sure that they will make good walkway lighting. I set them up down one side of the dock plus opposite each other. Will live with it a few days before I decide what to to. ... show more

Whoever made these claim that they were for 4x4 posts and they're not. They don't fit anything. It's false advertisement and it's absolute garbage. My neighbor is an owner of a construction company and I took one over to him and he laughed and said the same thing junk and garbage

I like these because they are a soft warm glow that provides adequate lighting. My post are about 4 feet off the ground and this still provides adequate lighting for my deck ramp. Charges well on sunny or partly sunny days. Trust you found this review honest and helpful:-)

These solar post caps were very easy to install. We replaced older ones within about half an hour. We did use a drill to drill into the wood and an electric screwdriver to attach fully and easily. The lights are very bright through the clear plastic on the bottom and they stayed on throughout the night. They aren't bright enough to consider lights for a walkway, but they're perfect for showing where the posts are of our back porch stairs. They are only plastic, so I am not sure how long they will hold up, but they look nice. The solar panel itself is larger than the ones we replaced, so that is a plus. If they had additional materials that are not plastic, the value for the money would certainly go up. ... show more

It seems there have been a lot of complaints about these lights not being as bright as expected. I've installed a good number of similar solar lights, in addition to these, and they all produce close to the same amount of light. I think these lights are meant to be cosmetic and mood lights more than anything else. I've got these lights installed on my deck, and I really do enjoy them while sitting outside listening to music. I certainly wouldn't be able to use them to read a book. I'm happy with these low level lights for chilling out. For those who are looking for super bright solar lights, there are many incredibly bright solar street lights available for sale on Amazon.
