I'm comparing multiple modules and this one is definitely my favorite. The floating design prevents directly sucking debris up into the pump and it came with several filter replacements so you can clean them. The nozzles are all good, it floats well, and had at least twice the performance of my other ones in overcast conditions. While some pumps wouldn't even run or could only function intermittently, this one kept going even after blocking some of the light by standing in front of the sun. To get it to stay near the middle of the pond i added an anchor so it cant drift to the edge, there are mounting holes on the pump body so I affixed a stainless wire and a heavy anchor. The top has actual glass so it won't fade, scuff, or deteriorate from UV, where the other models I've examined have PET or epoxy cell covers which are really not ideal. This pump really floats well with a closed cell foam ring under the edge, I suspect the birds could sit on this with no problem if they want to use it for a bath. Excellent, compact design with much thought put into it. Unless you have a reason not to, I'd use this one. Even in partial sun it sprays like the product photo. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ... show more

I was very surprised at how powerful this fountain is! When the sun is on it, it gets tremendous height! In saying that, be sure the water source is deep enough. My birdbath is too shallow to handle the cool fountain nozzles - the water kept going out of the basin - so I just use the basic nozzle. I will try to find a better place to put the birdbath so that the water won't go up as high. The birds just want the motion of the water, however, so it's all good. This would be great if you have a pond, swimming pool, or a large basin, 3" or so in diameter. This is an improvement from the initial solar fountains. Easier to clean and not all plastic. There is an anti-clog feature that I have yet to test, but good to know that it will halt the fountain until you clean it. Solar is the way to go and this item is a quality piece. ... show more

As a backyard bird watcher, I do everything I can to draw in the really cool birds, like the Painting Bunting. One thing I do is have the fountains going in my birdbaths, which attracts the birds. I recently discovered these types of birdbaths that have the fixed rods that keep the fountain in the middle; ones with this just drift to the side and then shoot the water out of the birdbath, defeating the whole purpose. This particular item is great! It stays put in the middle, and the water shoots very high, much higher than I expected. It comes with seven different nozzles; I put on one that shoots straight up, but some of the others will do different patterns. It also some replacement filters, and most amazingly, it came with instructions on how to use them! Nothing comes with instructions anymore, so I'm very impressed. Skip the cheaper ones and go with this one; it will last longer and work better. ... show more

This is a decent solar fountain for a bird bath with one minor issue, it doesn't float level. I placed this in the bird bath and one edge sunk lower than the other. The issue there is that the stream of water that it makes now arc's in one direction. Easy solution, drain some water out so it sits on the bottom of the bird bath, or use the rods they supply to level it. The spray is decent when it is in the sun, but the weird angle is a let down. I was worried there might not be room for our birds to still bathe if we added a fountain, as we usually have a water wiggler, but there is still plenty of room for the birds and the solar fountain. It also has clear extension rods to keep it centered in the bird bath. Its important to keep water in your bird bath moving so it doesn't get scummy and so mosquitos don't breed (at least it is in Florida), and this solar fountain feature seemed like a perfect addition after our last water wiggler died. I couldn't be happier with it. The water does shoot up higher than in the photo, was difficult to time the pic just right. I am 100% satisfied. ... show more
