The media could not be loaded. We live in snow country! Normally, I like to test products before putting up a review, but we are very late getting snow this year and I didn’t want a buyer to miss out on this very good cordless snow shovel! I have a lot of experience with snow removal at our house in Colorado, and also with portable snow shovels. Let me tell you that when hubby and I pulled it out of the box we were both excited over the quality of the pieces. Once put together, we can both tell you it is very durable! The handle doesn’t shift around, holding the shovel in place very well. The shovel portion is a thicker, more durable plastic than our “not so reliable” Sno Joe brand snow shovel. Both the handle and the stability handle are thicker and well positioned to help you guide the snow shovel through snow. It also has a wider base at 12”, and movable directional throwing blades which will be very helpful during windy conditions to not have the snow blowing back into your face. These are never recommended for use on ice or snow with chunks of ice. We always try to clear fresh snow as soon as possible to avoid breaking pieces of the plastic blades off. It is not really meant to clear large spaces like a driveway, but does a great job for sidewalks, porches, and patios. I suppose you could try it on a driveway that is small. That being said, since this is my main snow removal method while hubby uses our large snow blower, I can absolutely say a cordless snow shovel is a huge back saver and time saver for snow removal. No heavy lifting, just pushing! It is not recommended for deep snow. Because it is battery operated, you may have to recharge or get a second battery depending on the size of your area. While we haven’t yet tried it in the snow, we did turn it on in our garage, and feel confident it will do a good job for us. I will absolutely report back after our first snow. In the mean time, we didn’t want anyone to miss out on this cordless snow shovel, especially with snowy weather fastly approaching! ... show more

    • Used Twice - Second Time was Better!

I live in Grand Rapids, we get a lot of snow and I thought this would be great to clear our walkway and stairs. The snow that fell was definitely half snow half ice. It worked well when the snow was light and fluffy, but couldn't move the wetter stuff underneath. Just kept getting clogged and would just push the stuff around. I'm not sure the 40V one would do any better to be honest. It was only about 4 inches of snow and I think I put as much work in as if I were just to shovel it myself. I'll report back when I have more data. Initially disappointed. Update: It's possible the battery wasn't as charged as I thought the first time. We had a huge snow storm in Grand Rapids and really needed this to come through. There was about 6 inches and it was heavy with a little ice. It chewed it up super quick! I was able to clear my stairs and walkway as well as about 15 yards of sidewalk on two sides of the house in about 18 minutes. Saved my back. Definitely a win. ... show more

We don't get a lot of snow in the desert where I live, so I can't justify buying a full-sized blower like I used to have in PA. We do, however, get enough snow that my back kills for a few days after I spend a morning shoveling it out of my driveway and off the sidewalk. After our first real snow of the year, I pulled the trigger and ordered this powered shovel. It is a lifesaver. The media could not be loaded. This battery powered snow shovel is quite impressive and makes quick work in light snow. As you can see in the attached video, it is a small handy sized snow blower. It uses a battery, similar size to what you find on any power tool. The sweeper is easy to use, just attach the battery, then push the button in on the handle with one finger and squeeze the handle and off you go. In the video you can hear how loud it is, which is fairly quiet but my dogs love barking at it when it starts to throw the snow. The snow sweeper is light weight and easy to handle and carry around. It can be dis-assembled easily when not needed. This sweeper is best suited to hard surfaces like concrete, tile, pavers and wood decks. It does not work well at all on loose gravel pathways. This unit is ideal for people who have smaller areas to sweep when the snow falls, in my opinion. This is in part because you only get about 40 minutes of battery life before it will need a recharge. Recharge takes several hours. The overall quality of this snow sweeper is decent, the entire thing is made of plastic, so you need to be gentle with it or it could break. It is very easy to use and it is light enough that most people will not have any trouble handling it. It makes a great alternative to the traditional snow shovel. If you have smaller areas to shovel when it snows and want to give a cool gift to someone, then this is something to consider. I am very pleased I was able to get this battery powered snow shovel. It allows me to clear my deck in one quarter of the time it used to take me using the traditional snow shovel. ... show more
