  • Good Enough
Overall: Solid crossbar that will hold a bag or whatever attachment. Obviously, better ones exist but this one will do the trick for more mild weather conditions. If you are in freezing conditions I expect that water will get in the cover and freeze it. Although, I am not sure why anyone would need to take it off at that point anyway. That said, works great for us. Good: 1. Price 2. Easy to install 3. Rubber on clamps 4. Plenty of room for sunroof 5. Doesn't make too much noise Bad: 1. Poor instructions (but there are youtube videos) 2. Didn't have hex key (fallen wrench) needed for install 3. Can't go all the way back on the rails but goes far enough 4. The clamp covers aren't a perfect fit 5. The lock cover needs a gasket or something to make it fit tighter. Water will definitely get in there if it's raining. I don't think that it will negatively affect anything in the short term but it might make some parts rust in the long term. ... show more

  • Good value, sturdy, but installing was a slight pain
Took me a while to figure out that the long bar went in the front instead of the back, which had me confused for a bit. Overall these seem pretty sturdy and secure. Relatively easy to install. Good value versus other models.

  • Correct fit for 2025 Sorento.
Product was as described, instructions were clear and easily understood. May need two people or a clamp to secure the covers back on when finished installation.

  • Sturdy with Okay Build Quality. Good Value Choice. Good Customer Service
It took a couple of days, but I finally got the covers to fit... Okay, here's the TLDR version: They look good, almost like OEM, and very sturdy compared to others that I have tried and did not work. Fit and finish are a 6.5 out of 10. Covers require some manipulation, it's not just about using a torque wrench... I had to put some pressure on the plastic just below the lock to get the locks to engage... CAUTION: With the torque wrench set at 50LBS as the directions said, it stripped out the screwheads... Looks and performance: The fit and finish are not perfect, but good enough. They pass the 10ft and 3 ft tests. They look very similar to the OEM parts, and the connection to the rail is very sturdy. They seal off well on the top, and I looked for the clamps to have hooks on both sides to catch the contours on the rails which these do. Some of the "universal" cross bars have a flat side and no matter how much you tighten them, you can pull them off by hand. I gave these a thorough testing and I am confident they will do well. Installation and Instructions: The instructions are not great... but if you are intuitive they are pretty easy to install. The biggest challenge I had was determining the location of the bars. After doing some research, I placed them over/near the door seams. - Make sure they are at least 30 inches apart. - The distance from the top of the windshield is important for reducing wind noise, other the front door seam did pretty well for me. Tightening these was also a bit of a mystery. I hand-tightened them with the Allen Key that was provided, and even at that, they seemed pretty sturdy. However, the instructions call for a torque wrench set at ~50lbs. I was never able to actually tighten them down to the point where the torque wrench released. I ended up stopping out all of the screwheads (if this happens, you can use some channel-lock of vise grip pliers and get the screws off. The screws are M6 x 100 35mm) We went out for a drive and got up to 65 mph and didn't have any noticeable wind noise. As I mentioned above, the position/distance from the top of the windshield will be key to minimizing the noise. ... show more

  • Excellent Roof Rack Alternative--Helpful Installation Lessons Learned!
Thanks to those who posted before me with the guidance for installing the rack and particularly the roof covers. I will try to capture all of that into my review with pictures to hopefully save everyone the hours I lost struggling with the install. Now that it is done, I am giving this rack 4 Stars to account for the excellent product and customer service but with a slight penalty for the installation instructions and difficulty. I am going to assume everyone can get to the point of having the clamps slid onto the rods. That's the easy part. Now onto the steps: 1. Recognize that one rod is longer than the other and that there is a direction arrow to point the rods toward the front of the roof. The FRONT bar is the longer one. 2. Based on prior Amazon feedback, I found that aligning the rods/clamps right over the front door and rear door glass windows worked best for fitting. 3. Secure the clamps in those locations--I found using a Torx bit fitting on a Craftsman Socket set worked best and sped along the clamp tightening. 4. Now the hard part. The covers slide over the clamps, but not far enough for you to be able to lock the covers and remove the key. They are hard plastic and not easily manipulated. So I followed the advice of another Amazon reviewer and used a Bar Clamp to enable me to tighten the cover enough so the key could turn right and be removed. 5. As shown in the picture, set up the clamp so that you leave room for the key to turn. I used a 12" Bar Clamp, which was the perfect length to use the head on the inside part of the rod and then used the micro-adjustment screw to tighten it enough so that the key would turn right and then come out. Once you get the clamp covers on, I went around with my torx socket and tightened all of the under screws on the rod. Then it was all secure and looked every bit as nice as the OEM roof rack that cost 3X as much! P.S. Final shout-out to the excellent service I received even after past the return date. I had to go through Amazon's contact the seller function, but I needed a replacement part I lost and they sent it to me at no cost within a week. I would definitely recommend this seller for their customer service! ... show more
