Summary: GREAT for making cables for arduino projects, works great, watch the video (or ruin a few till you give in and watch it anyways lol) I didn't have very high hopes for this tool as i was literally buying the cheapest option online, but this tool came out of the package clean and oiled, free of corrosion (improperly stored high carbon tools WILL rust with humidity in the atmosphere if the metal is dry), and is way sturdier and better quality than i anticipated. It works great, i saw a lot of reviewers complaining about the lack of instructions, however i received a card that states a youTube video with usage instructions, and a funny little disclaimer about how i'd love the tools, but i still wasn't prepared anyways. I went ahead and just watched his video first, flipped the chuck (as instructed by video for ease of use), and tested a few crimps, haven't messed one up yet. I don't know about the other crimps sizes, as i'm just using this for arduino pin headers. The pins that come with the tool are not superior, as they are slightly flat and don't always like to push into breadboard, but they are listed as a freebie for practicing with the tool and work fine, especially considering i was looking at the same (design) tool from a different seller for $7 more that came with only the tool. ... show more

I usually don't write reviews, but I've decided to share my experience with the tool because the seller says: "Great Product, you will not be disappointed, look no further.". The only reason why I rated the item with two stars is free terminals and pins. The crimper itself is total garbage. I bought the tool to crimp 2.54mm Dupont connectors. This was my first-time work with the connector type tho I have some experience with other crimping tools for JST connectors. Technically I can use PA-09 to crimp Dupont connectors, but since it takes more time because with PA-09 you actually need to crimp a couple of times the same terminal, I decided to buy a tool dedicated to Dupont connectors that should simplify the process. While using the SN-28B Ratchet tool, I'm getting a slightly flat terminal, so it doesn't fit inside a pin (see images 1, 2, and 3), so I need to perform an additional step with pliers to fix it. You also can see from picture 2 that the crimper is barely touching strands of metal. When I increase the pressure setting of the tool (see image 4), the slightly flat terminal turns to super flat. The seller recommended me to decrease the pressure setting, well, in this case, the terminal just falls off the wire (see image 5). So I ended up using PA-09. You can definitely tell the difference (see image 6). I would not recommend SN-28B Ratchet to anybody. As I said, it's garbage. ... show more

This tool works properly and will be a great addition to my tool box. Just one problem, if you are buying this to crimp pins typically used in automotive harnesses, beware. This tool wont work, its too small. I purchased to re pin car harnesses and sadly it’s too small for 14-12 gauge wire. Hopefully I can find another use for this tool. Sometimes buying online is tricky when you can not look at tool in person to determine if it will work for your needs. Other than not being able to be used for my application it seems like a well built tool for the right price. ... show more

Works like its suppose to. I did 3 crimps to get the feel of the tool and then started to crimp the good stuff. There are no instructions included but a web site to a video on how to use the tool. The thing to remember is to get the crimps positioned correctly or you will ruin the crimp. I'm using it to crimp connections for my RC airplanes and drones which makes a very nice job of wiring. ... show more

I already have 4 crimpers of various sorts, but wasn't surprised that none of them were the right tool for crimping Dupont connectors. This tool came lovingly packaged, with a pointer to YouTube instructions, and a friendly note. Most impressive to me is the precision of the crimping jaws (photo). The crimper itself feels more solid than many of my crimpers, and the kit of Dupont connectors is really handy. All in all, a great value. ... show more

I bought this tool thinking that it would be a low budget tool for the job I needed them for; however, to my entire surprise and those helping me out this tool crimps just like the $600 ones. I am right handed sothe way the teeth were mounted made me work backwards in my opinion, so I inverted the the teeth on the crimper to chage the way I place the pin to be crimped and it worked like a champ. I definately recommend this tool 500%. ... show more
