Description

Smith's, the leader in innovative sharpening technology, is proud to offer an electric knife sharpener that incorporates both manual and mechanical sharpening elements. This unique combination provides a broad capability to easily sharpen dull blades and maintain razor sharp edges. The sharpening wheels on your Edge Pro Compact Electric Knife Sharpener are made from bonded synthetics. The synthetics used are selected for their ability to guarantee longer wheel life, uniform cutting, and minimum heat build up, so that de-tempering of your blade does not occur. Our wheels are manufactured according to strict tolerances in order to ensure the same high quality on each and every wheel that we make. The crossed ceramic rods put the final finished edge on your blade. Crossed ceramic rods create a fixed sharpening angle that lightly hones both sides of your blade at the same time; thus, putting a polished, razor-sharp cutting edge on your knife. Also, the crossed ceramic rods are excellent for giving already sharp knives a a quick touch-up before use. From the Manufacturer Smith’s, the leader in innovative sharpening technology, is proud to offer an electric knife sharpener that incorporates both manual and mechanical sharpening elements. This unique combination provides a broad capability to easily sharpen dull blades and maintain razor sharp edges. The sharpening wheels on your Smith’s Electric/Manual Knife Sharpener are made from bonded synthetics. Crossed ceramic rods create a pre- set sharpening angle that lightly hones both sides of your blade at the same time; thus, putting a polished, razor-sharp edge on your knife. Also, use the crossed ceramic rods for a quick touch-up of already sharp knives. Just a few, quick pulls through the sharpening slot is all it takes. Smith’s recommends always using the ceramic rods for final edge honing after you sharpen using the synthetic wheels. Again, just a few pulls through the sharpening slot is all it takes.

  • Knife sharpener
Does a good job on kitchen knifes

  • It has a personality
I used it on my cheap knives to get to know it's "personality" before moving on to the good ones. Gotta say, for the price I'm pleased with the results. Index finger pressure and constant contact through the draw does the trick after only a minute. Seems to give knives a micro-seration which is fine with me for non-surgery. They draw through the tomato skin just with the weight of the knife now. Shoulda videotaped the before and after. But the best advice is I'm glad I did this in the garage near the shop vac. First use and a dozen knives left me with a about 2 tablespoons worth of very fine dust of metal and stone spread over a square foot I'm glad isn't in the kitchen. ... show more

  • The stone is also very aggressive and will wear out an expensive knife quickly.
This electric came as promised and will only work when pulled in. It is not rechargeable. The sharping stones are not even in the slots, making a different cut on each side of the blade. The stone is also very aggressive and will wear out an expensive knife quickly. To use it, you have to really practice on how to hold the blade in each slot. I will use in in my workshop and only on tools. ... show more

  • The product works and it's a fair price
The Smith's sharpener works for me. A few slow strokes on dull knives and they are cutting tomatoes without pressing, my ultimate test. It's not noisy, it's powerful enough to do the job and it has a nice appearance. I put it away after using it only leaving the cord out. I think you'll enjoy it for casual home kitchen use. ... show more

  • Nothing like a well sharpened knife.
Easy to use, as long as the blade is less than 1/4" thick (approx.). There is nothing more discouraging than trying to use a dull knife, or scissors, for that matter. That is very true, especially when you can sharpen what you need and you will only spend less than $20.00 to ensure your efforts. This little sharpener lasts a long time. Took the old one apart and found that the sharpening wheel was about 1 1/2" wide, and I would guess that grinding wheel still had quite a lot of life left. (I've had the old one for about 6 or 7 years. Needed a new because the cord was damaged. RECOMMEND. ... show more
