I got this for my 16" Lenovo Ideapad and it fits great! The case is relatively hard, and I trust it to protect the laptop in my carry-on luggage. I would take it out of the case if I use the computer to avoid overheating, but I got the case for travel, and it does the job.

The media could not be loaded. This poorly designed and manufactured case is falsely advertised as being compatible with a "13.3 inch Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook," which is what we own, as shown here. There are three glaring not-as-advertised defects with this case. The video was taken after unboxing the case. It shows the first two defects, that are both caused by the angle of the lid (top) of the case, which is held in place to the bottom of the case by one cloth strap at each side. These straps are *not* hinges. They are *not* adjustable. Thus, the case lid has only *one* position: fully extended with the straps at their maximum tension, at approximately 45 degrees. As the video shows, the 45 degree angle of the case lid is so extreme that it can not support the weight of the Duet screen. The keyboard is shown correctly secured to the bottom of the case with the diagonal, cloth straps, one at each corner. The Duet is only upright because we are holding it in place by pressing our hand down on the keyboard hand rest. As soon as we remove our hand, the entire Duet flops backwards and smacks onto the table. The photo with our red utility knife shows how we solved this "case" of dumtree design by cutting off the cloth straps. This allows the case lid to extend backwards completely flat, so we can use the Duet's kickstand. Of course, our Duet is practically out of the case at this point, so what is the point of the case? The second no-brainer problem shown in the video is that a 45 degree angle screen is visually impossible to use, unless you compute standing up and can reach the keyboard with your ten foot long super-freak arms that make you totally awesome. The third problem with this case is Smartree's false claim that it does not flex. Because Amazon does not allow more than one video per review, you will need to imagine our video showing the top of the case flexing so much that its interior contacts the back of our Duet inside, merely by our pressing up and down with one finger at various points across its surface as if bouncing on a trampoline. This defect is has two causes: first, although the length and width of the 13.3" Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 fit reasonably snug in the case, the depth of case is about twice the depth of the Duet, which leaves a lot of empty air-space inside. The second cause is that Smartree's supposedly rigid plastic liner is not. This flex problem requires yet another buyer's DIY solution. For now, ours is to save the rectangular piece of soft foam packaging that was shipped inside of the case, and to place it in the case with the Duet in order to fill the depth gap before zipping the lid. Because the foam packaging is not meant for this, and is ripping apart at the edges, we may buy foam core board with matching depth from an art supply store. Or we may chuck this case and buy a proper one. About the only good things we can say about this case is that it is better than nothing, and luckily fits in the water bladder sleeve of our REI Co-Op brand Trail 25 model backpack, which has plenty of exterior backrest foam padding. Given that the first two flaws above are obvious from the advertising, you may ask why we bought this case in the first place, and are bothering to suggest that you do not. We are presently homeless and a laptop is an essential tool for us to access healthcare, employment, and housing. Our previous laptop quickly bit it from compression because we neglected to buy a hard case, and naively stuffed a 1/4" thick federal elections handbook into the soft case sleeve. We voted, and our laptop died for our country. The Smartree case was a snap purchase for our new Duet replacement machine after we were unable to find anything better. ... show more

I love this case, it seems really protective, has a nice handle, and is quite svelte. The only issue I have is it's not possible to use the ports while it's inside. I'm still giving it 5 stars because I'm not even sure how it would be possible to expose the ports in a case this thin. I'll just take it out and put it on top. ... show more
