We ordered one blackout blind in Bouvardia Cream for our master bedroom. It arrived within days and took just minutes to install. I programmed the z-wave motor and set up a SmartThings routine to open and close on sunset/sunrise within another 3 minutes. Alexa found and added the device automatically, so it can be easily controlled by voice without me having to do additional programming. The blind fits perfectly, and we love the white side channels we opted to get. They hold the blind perfectly straight and block any light that might otherwise be seen from the sides, and they themselves disappear visually into the window opening. The bottom of the blind arrived programmed to stop at the precisely perfect spot at the base of the window opening, exactly per our measurements. Getting into smart home tech has been an uphill battle with the husband, but blinds were the one thing we were both excited about. The set we ordered had a message within 12 hours asking us to confirm sizing details to make sure we entered them correctly. Once those were confirmed, the blinds shipped faster than expected (within three weeks, I believe). There was an issue with the solar panel’s power cable coming disconnected (spoiler alert, it’s not supposed to), but the response time was same day and a new one arrived within five days. Fantastic performance and response times from both the remote and smart assistant (HomeKit, for those wondering). We don’t have the light blockers on the side, but even with that it works perfectly. Our plan is to start swapping out all of blinds in our house. Super easy to install, looks great in our home and matches our aesthetic, perfectly sized, clearly labeled in case you order more than one set at a time, and they do indeed completely blackout. The media could not be loaded. Love these blinds, have had them up for a week now and they are working perfect. Took about 20 mins to install with a couple screws and integrate with home assistant (I got the ZigBee motor which connected immediately and has had no issues). Light blocking is good, not 100 percent blackout since light comes in the sides, but it's significantly darker than regular blinds. Shipping was lightning fast, I think it was less than a week turn around time with a lot of communication and verification on sizing.     • Unstable with old motor Apple HomeKit // Stable with the new motor

//Review update August 7th from 2 stars to 5 stars: After posting the bad review and explaining the issue, the customer service team reached out to me and sent a new motor to replace the old one. After replacing the motor, the Apple HomeKit works without issues (so far). Assuming that from now on ALL shades are sent out with the new/upgraded motor and the stability will not change - I can fully recommend these shades! I decided to buy this model ONLY because of high rating and HomeKit connectivity. The control through Siri/HomeKit was for me the most important feature for the blinds I was looking for. And this is exactly where this model fails. It works only 60-80% of the time. Meaning that 2-4 times out of 10, the blinds will not respond to HomeKit commands because "connection lost". Sometimes only one blind responds, the other doesn't. I'm forced to find the remote control... again, which completely defeats the purpose of this purchase for me. And yes, I have re-installed and re-paired the blind now 3 times following instructions of SmartWings customer support. Besides that, if you plan to install 2 blinds in a row next to each other, there will be a 2-3 inch gap, due to design of the blinds. It is unavoidable with this model. The issue is obviously that sunlight will go straight through this 2-3 inch gap and if positioned unlucky, it will shine in your face. Which also kind of defeats the purpose of these blinds.. The solar battery is flawless though. Much more convenient than the standard option with cable. The fact that the blinds work with the remote control and they look ok, doesn't make it worse for to go through all the painful process of returning these and waiting another 3 weeks for new ones... so I will keep it. But I will NOT recommend it to anyone - avoid this product, if HomeKit control is important for you. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I should’ve done this review 4 months ago when I first bought them and I don’t really do reviews, but I would like to start by saying I will rate this product a 5 out of 5 every time. I just recently bought my home and my front door has a nice modern look to it with all glass panels. Now that might seem appealing to the eye but at the same time privacy was a big factor to me as you could clearly see in my home at all hours of the night. My first alternative was to get curtains but as me and my wife researched we came across these motorized shades. My initial thought was they were probably cheap and generic because of not many reviews nor buys, but I am really eating my words now. The quality of these shades is spot on and the best part is they come fully charged and I would say I haven’t had to recharge them in about 3-4 months and still going. Customer service is on point as their rep assured me of all shipping, warranty, and delivery details. The responses were very fast and reassuring. If you are looking for some motorized shades similar to my expirence then do not hesitates to buy these. Yes they are pretty pricey but in my opinion worth every dollar. Now at night with the blinds being blacked out as they roll down I feel completely more secure in my home with my families privacy as you cannot see in at night. It’s as easy as a push of a button on the remote that comes already synced to the shades so it’s literally un box and your ready to go. Make sure your dimensions are as accurate as possible when measuring what you need because they are truly exact. ... show more
