    • Great emergency item to keep in your car or bring camping
This jump starter is a great accessory to keep in your car, especially given its small size and low weight. Historically jump starters were bulky and heavy, taking up a lot of room in your vehicle, causing people to leave them at home, which doesn't help when your battery dies. Now with this small jumper, you can leave it in your car in case of an emergency and not have to worry about it taking up space. You won't need to rely on a stranger for help to jump start your car, which is a great benefit if you're out somewhere remote or alone. The size of the unit is fantastic, and its very lightweight. The cord is simple to plug in and easy to use, you can't plug it in the wrong way. It comes with a great hard case that fits the jumper perfectly which is an added bonus to keep everything together. I love the digital readout as most jumpers only have a series of 3-4 led lights to indicate the charge level. This also uses USB-C to recharge so no weird additional connectors or cables to get lost. If you have a USB-c cable, you can recharge it. The USB ports are a great addition so that you can use this as a large battery bank to recharge a cell phone, tablet, or any number of accessories if you lose power. The flashlight is handy but I will likely never use it as I keep a head lamp or flashlight in my vehicle just in case, but its there. My only concern is that I wish the cable with the alligator clips were longer so that you can separate the clips further. Some vehicles require the clips to be attached to the battery and a metal component on the engine or frame which might be further apart than two battery terminals. One of my biggest issue with some of these power charger with jumper cables is that you have to buy a bag or case. This set comes with a nice bag that can easily store both the cables and the device. It charges quickly and is fairly lightweight.

The Smartsafe Car Battery Jump Starter is a 12-volt, 2000 peak amp Jumper Battery Pack. The jumper comes in a nice zippered hard case. Included are the case, jumper pack, jump cables, USB-C charging cable, and instruction manual. The case is made of orange and black plastic. There is a nice digital display to show battery %. The jumper cables use 10-gauge wires with plastic clamps. The jumper also serves as a power bank. There are 2 charging ports. There is a bright LED light which provides plenty of light to let you see what you are doing. The light also has slow-blinking and fast-blinking SOS/Strobe modes. I initially had low expectations after feeling how light the jumper pack was. After letting the unit charge to 100% I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. This unit has lots of cranking power and great battery life. I was able to jump my 2005 escalade easily. I also tested the unit on a motorcycle, a garden tractor, and an articulating loader. The jumper performed flawlessly. It easily cranked anything I threw at it. Even after several jumps the unit still had lots of remaining battery life. The thing that impressed me most was the fact that you do not need to click a button after connecting cables prior to cranking. You just connect the cables and turn the key. You can turn the key multiple times, no going back to the jumper and pressing a button. This is a really nice, powerful, well-performing jumper pack. We were having car battery problems in 3 cars, which we resolved by the time we got this product. As we ended up with 2 new car batteries, I hope we won't need this product after all, though I feel better having it in the car. It works on 12V car batteries and looks extremely easy to use. The product battery charged up quickly using the included USB-C charger. This battery can also function as a flashlight and a power bank. I appreciate that this has a digital readout (as opposed to the typical three or four lights) and an entire case to store the charging box, charger and cables. The price point is lower than typical competitors, and it works well. At a minimum, this is a good value for an off-brand charging unit.

    • Good quality and easy to use with compact size
This review is based on the fact that I haven’t actually had to jump a car using this product yet. My cars are all lower displacement so I am confident it would have no issues. The Smartsafe Car Battery Jump Starter came pre changed at 71%. It took about 2 1/2 hours to reach 100. The starter appears very rugged and if dropped from a reasonable height should receive no damage. I like that it comes in a tidy soft zippered case that keeps everything together. Using a product like this is much safer for the user as well as the cars, as there are safety features built in to prevent it from being connected incorrectly, compared with jumper cables which can cause damage to the car providing the jump as well. This greatly minimizes the risks inherent with jump starting. The additional benefits it provides is a plus, like a built in flashlight/strobe as well as being a backup USB charger. ... show more

No joke everyone that drives needs to have one of these in there vehicle I don't know how many times it has already saved me or how many random people it has gotten going again. It comes with a very sturdy case also with a decent zipper and won't come apart on day two, not to mention it will fit about anywhere in your rig so portability won't be an issue., it's a no brainer it really is. ... show more
