It has multiple ways to write secret messages and decode them along with a nice, colorful booklet of instructions and the science behind each method. My 10 year old daughter.adores this kit. It comes with 2 complete kits (one for you and one for the person you want to send messages to) and a book describing how to create many different types of secret messages. She spent the entire day reading the book and creating several of the secret codes (mirror imaging, moon codes). The book also explains other secrets, for example if you hand your friend a note with your left hand, it means the opposite of whatever the note says. It also showed you different ways you can fold your secret note (into tulips and other origami type fold) What a blast this was for her and me (the person she choose as her best friend :) ) ... show more

My daughters loved this gift, but it only lasted a few hours on a weekend before all of the materials were used up. So this toy isn't really a 'repeatable' toy that can be used again and again without being careful of rationing the play.

My box arrived damaged and the UV pens do not work. My daughter was so excited to use this. It’s a cute idea. We have additional UV pens that work and used it. However, I am extremely disappointed in the quality. Do you sell replacement pens?

I bought this for my granddaughter’s 10th birthday. I think it’s so important to expose girls to STEM activities at an early age. She not only had fun, but she learned a lot too!

We bought this for our 8 year-old granddaughter for Christmas and she seems to really be enjoying it. The secret messages are revealed by blue light. This was a hit with my daughters! They enjoyed playing with it and particularly enjoyed the glow in the dark writing utensil. I gave it four stars instead of five due to all the little pieces and parts that had to be assembled and are easily misplaced from the kit.
