This kit is great for a gift but like a majority of its competitors didn’t hit the mark. Positives: * mixing instructions are clear * you get two powder mixes. Can make 7 variations of crystals by mixing coloring agents. * creative and keeps kids engaged Negatives: * Needs boiling water but instructions doesn’t have warning to get adult to assist (I did) * the base containers are flimsy. Some liquid fell while stirring. * beware- can stain hands and floors. Use plastic mat, wear gloves Results: * crystals formed but all around the periphery not in the center how the pictures advertised. * Some containers grew something beautiful - like a little bonsai but it was not crystals!! ... show more
