Final Post... 5th scale came with usb cable, but doesn't work with batteries. I'm okay with this. all in all, this was a long journey. Amazon refunded for 1 scale. So I will be ordering my 5th today. update when it arrives. Second 2 scales - Well despite saying the same claims of 'item will come in original packaging and includes all accessories. Item has been tested and is in full working condition. Comes with a 30-day warranty' , these 2 scales did not come in any original packaging, and 1 scale is missing the usb cable.. I just need a USB cable , but amazon wants me to send it back and go through this whole ordeal yet again. This process is taking wayyyy too long.. and not to be mean, I should have kept the usb cable from the last DoA, so I'd have it for this working one. i would like to just order a cable, but nothing noted about polarity on the barrel .. so.. not sure. and these 2 scales use 3 AAA batteries, vs my first 2 that used 9 volts.. just FYI First 2 scales - Decided to go with this scale for a local food drive.. our first year we had an amazing dymo s-150, but someone dropped a soup can on the display and cracked the lcd... I went with this one from the seller because the 'item will come in original packaging and includes all accessories. Item has been tested and is in full working condition. Comes with a 30-day warranty.' it did come in the original packaging, which is important because there is a usb cable.. I feared ordering it and not getting the cable (hence the 'all the accessories'). The manual is mostly useless. I ordered 2, first was perfect (LCD is backlit).. second one is doa, which I didn't think would happen cause the item was tested. Tried a fresh 9 volt, tried the usb.. nothing.. I swapped usb cables and tried another battery, still nothing. so 50% so far. I hope this won't be a repeating cycle of returning, ordering.. repeat. Outside of this issue, the scale is awesome and accurate. it is nice to have a scale with a detached display.. and i'm still unsure on the whole backlight situation. Many photos and comments say there is no backlight, but the one working scale I have was indigo backlit. Curious to see how the other scales are once I get them. ... show more

    • Used to Weigh my Car!
I used two of these scales to weigh each corner of my race car in order to corner balance it. The 440lb max weight was plenty when using two for each corner with steel square stock to distribute the load. The screen is easy to read, they aren't too heavy, and I like that it has a metal top plate instead of glass like a lot of modern scales. I tested the accuracy at the low end with a couple small weights, then tested mid range by standing on it and comparing to my bathroom scale. The numbers were correct each time. I never put more than 270lbs on the scale, so I can't comment on the accuracy between 270lbs and 440lbs. The only reason it didn't get five stars is that one of my two units has a weird issue with the buttons. When I put the battery in, it pushes up on the screen and none of the buttons are responsive. When I take the battery out and leave it plugged in, the buttons work totally fine. So it must be an issue with the battery pushing against the board inside. It is still usable, just needs the power supply plugged in or the battery dangling from the controller. Great scale, I am planning to purchase more so I have a pair for each corner of the car. ... show more

    • Why Did I Wait SO Long To Buy This!!!
I absolutely LOVE this scale - I don't know why I waited so long to get it! I've been getting shipping supplies from USPS & UPS - boxes, envelopes, etc. I wanted to get a scale they had on their site, but it only weighs up to 330 lbs, and was $73, and I couldn't justify the price for what I'll use it for. I decided to try Amazon - and well...this is almost exactly like the scale on the USPS website...there's quite a few differences...making THIS purchase very easy! The Price for the Smart Weigh - better then any other scale I've looked at! Weight - I can weigh in KG, G, LB, and LB AND OZ! Battery - I can use a 9V Battery OR use the USB. It also has Manual or Auto OFF! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that there's a cord with the LCD Display - I can put big boxes on the platform and not have to bend down with flashlight and magnifier <HA!> to read it - I just pull the Display to me and boom! I also LOVE that this scale works on Tile AND Carpet!! I weighed a box of tools on our Tile, and then on the Carpet and I got the same reading. This is a well made, durable scale that should last me a very long time as long as I take care of it. I got this for 1 reason. I used to blow glass, make glass beads for jewelry, and ornaments for Christmas Trees <although people just wanted them for windows too!. I am a 100% Disabled Veteran and broke my neck and back while on active duty. I got very sick in February and they just diagnosed me with a rare cancer in my lung <not from smoking>. SO~ I have to stop making anything with glass, as there are teeny tiny particles you breathe in when melting glass...even using a mask. I have at least 750 pounds of glass rods in my studio - that has to go. It sure helps to have a scale to weigh boxes that contain glass like this because it is VERY heavy! In all honesty - this is the only reason I bought the scale. BUT!! I can use it for traveling - YES!! I can weigh suitcases before we even leave the house. I was once truly embarrassed when I over-packed by less than a pound - but had to dig and dig to take out something to bring me under...all in front of "everyone" standing around or checking in. UGH!! But no more! For the $35 I spent on this scale - when I'm done I can store it in a desk drawer, or my filing cabinet until I need it again. I use Paypal, and when I make a sale....I package the items <I use Flat Rate Priority>, weigh the box <Flat Rate Priority does have weight limits..I think 70 pounds- but I've never gotten 70 pounds in a Sm,Md,Lrg Flat Rate box...yet!>, pay for and print a shipping label...then take my boxes to the Post Office and hand the boxes over! I have yet to pay any additional money - the boxes all weight the same as they did at home using this scale! I am so happy with my purchase of this Scale. In reading a lot of the reviews - I can see this company does have great customer service which I won't hesitate to call should the need arise. All in all - I absolutely recommend this Scale, and the Seller! I didn't receive any discounts or free stuff. I pay for my purchases!!! ... show more

I had 3 litters of pups in other pins I bought from a different company I thought this company was tge same I had ordered others from. NO ITS NOT THE QUALITY OF OTHER COMPANY. THE HAMMERLITE FINISH PAINT DOES NIT COVER THE METAL ON PANNELS OR POLES AND IS ALREADY SHOWING RUST. I TRIED TO RETURN IT BUT WAS TOLD I HAD TO SEND PIX OF THE DAMAGE WHERE THE WIRES WERE BENT WHEN I UNPACKED IT. I CALLED AMAZON THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD STEP IN AND REFUND IT. I DIDN'T HAVE TO SEBD PIX ASKED IF I NEEDED TO RETURN IT THEY SAID NO JUST DISCARD IT ANY WAY I WANTED TO SO I DID. NOW AMAZON IS SIDING WITH COMPANY THEY NEED PIX OF DAMAGE. DIDN'T FIND OUT TILL TO LATE TO SEND PIX. SO IM OUT THE PRICE OF THIS PRODUCT AND HAVE NOTHING BECAUSE I TRASHED IT CAUSE WAS SUCH BAD QUALITY
