I bought this mainly to weight records before shipping them. It does a nice job of allowing me to see the weight, because of the corded display unit. With other digital scales, because a record package is normally at least 13x13in, the display would often be obscured and hard to see without having it perfectly placed on the scale. Even then, you would have to awkwardly twist your head in order to see the display showing the weight of your package. This unit also has a feature where the (2) plastic parts of the scale, on each side of the silver middle piece, fold out, so that you can hold letters or larger envelopes semi-vertically. I tested the scaled with known weights I have at home and this scale was accurate right out of the box. This product does it's job as described, withought being too expensive. ... show more

This will get you within about .1 or .2 ounces but it's not really perfectly accurate. As long as you overestimate by a little bit after you weigh your package, you won't have any problems at UPS/FedEx. The scale is really easy to setup and use and has a nice bright digital display.
