I care mostly about the non-fitness functionality, like size, comfort, appearance, readability in direct-sunlight, (with 63-year-old eyes), time & date display options, SMS-retrieval, music-playback, phone-calling, stopwatch, countdown-timer, flashlight, and ease-of-use. I don’t care much about the fitness features. For decades I’ve been working out and doing sports almost daily, so the fitness tracking isn’t really helpful to me. I’m not going to change my weightlifting or stair-climber routines, and I’m not going to snow-ski an extra hour because of what the watch says. I’m going to snow-ski until the watch says 4:00pm because that’s when the chairlifts stop running. The sleep-tracking might be interesting, but it doesn’t seem to be accurate for me. The heart-rate monitor seems accurate. It doesn’t have a blood-pressure-monitor but I don’t find that feature (on my other smart watches) to be useful. If monitoring my blood-pressure were important, I wouldn’t trust a watch to do it. Based on the other reviews, the fitness stuff and the GPS seems to work well. I’ll defer to those reviewers, and focus on the non-fitness stuff that’s important to me. The one disappointment for me is that there is no way to invoke Google Assistant (or Siri), only Alexa. I don’t do Alexa. That stinks because it would be really convenient to use such assistants (“set alarm”, call “John Doe mobile”, “How tall is Mount Everest”, etc.) especially to be able to access your entire phone book. Other than that I really like this smart watch. I have 5 smart watches, and this is one of my favorites because: SIZE: It’s a nice size for a smart watch—about like an Apple watch. I have a few smart watches that are so big that they dwarf my arm and so I rarely wear them. It’s not as small as some Fit-Bits, but the VPSTAY’s face is bigger so you can more easily read messages, music-playback etc. Pros & cons. For a smart-watch, this size is perfect, IMHO. COMFORT: The watch band is nicely soft and the watch is comfortable. APPEARANCE: I think it looks about as good as any smart-watch. READABILITY ESPECIALLY IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT: The display is vibrant and easily readable—even in direct-sunlight if you turn up the brightness. (Photo attached of the watch in direct-sunlight.) This is really important to me for doing outdoor sports—especially snow skiing. TIME & DATE DISPLAY: As of today, there are 100 watch-face options, several of which I really like, and some of which are customizable (such that, e.g. you can add your choice of 4 icons to the corners of the watch face for stuff like phone-calling, stopwatch, weather, timer, etc.) You can even select some of your favorite photos as the background for the watch-face. SMS & EMAIL RETRIEVAL: You can have your SMS (text) messages and emails (first few lines only) sent to your phone. (In Android, make sure that you grant permissions to the app to enable message retrieval). I like this feature. I wish that I could read the entire email, but it’s a watch. MUSIC PLAYBACK: Easy to do. Nice display of current song information. Skip forward & back. Pause. Volume control. You can choose to playback on your watch or on your phone (and any connected headphones or speakers). PHONE CALLING: It’s easy to receive and make phone calls from the watch, though you only have access to your most used subset of contacts for outbound calls. The audio is loud enough and the sound quality is good in both directions. STOPWATCH & TIMER: Both work nicely and can be made quickly available—even directly from some watch-faces. FLASHLIGHT: I like that there is a “toolbox menu” that is available with a swipe up from the clock-face which quickly lets you change some vital settings like brightness, and includes a “flashlight”. It’s not really a flashlight. It just lights the screen up white, but that’s enough to let you navigate a pitch-black room or put a key into a dark door-lock. It’s a great feature that is easily accessible with a swipe-up and a tap. (My other smart-watches have the feature buried so deep in the menus, that I don’t use it.) EASE-OF-USE: This watch, along with its FitBeing app are very intuitive. The app and the watch provide many customization options so that, for example, you can display the apps in the style and order that you prefer. I have 5 smart watches. This probably has the easiest, most intuitive user-interface. OVERALL VALUE: When I got this watch the price was about $18. At that price this watch was an AMAZING value. I should have bought several and given them to my friends and family for Christmas. But now the price seems to be ~$66. That’s still pretty reasonable, but not a slam-dunk relative to the competition. This watch is great and I have been waring it and using it every single day since I received it . It offers allot more features than I was expecting and it's worth it. The appearance of the watch is sleek and trendy. It is very easy to navigate and operate. The band is made of silicone and feels super comfortable on my wrist. Features: The face os the watch is tinted black when not in use. The brightness can be adjusted but after a few seconds it does turn off to preserve the battery. The face is shy of 2" in length and just shy of 1.5" in width. The enlarged crown controller is located on the right outside of the watch and is useful to awaken the watch from sleep mode and toggle in between tasks and features. Next to the crown is the charging port which is powered by USB charger. When I first unboxed the watch I only had to charge it for 5 minutes to begin using. Since it is a USB charger I was able to charge it in my vehicle with no issues. The battery does last a very long time. I have been going almost 3 days with no charge. The App which is called Fitbeing was available for download through the app store and provides me with all my data that is acquired by the watch. It also provides a limited amount of face backgrounds to choose from. This is the only area where I wish would have been more expansive in choices. There are allot of colorful and shape related backgrounds, but I am a neutral loving girly so I like one dimensional plain backgrounds in neutral colors. The app provides information that is also available on the watch itself. For instance my profile information, how many steps I have taken throughout the day, the quality of my sleep ( I do not wear mine to bed ) , information on my workouts, walks, jogs etc... as well as my heart rate, blood oxygen level, stress levels and I can even track my menstrual cycle. I connected my iPhone health app to my watch so that it can share information, and record new information simultaneously. I was able to set my own preferences for date, time, first day of the week and measurements. The notifications section allows me to turn on and off any services like sms, email calendar reminders , social media and more. I can keep track of my amazon messages, change the language of the watch, the brightness of the screen and the weather. The watch comes equipped to work with Alexa, Bluetooth calling and has a "find my watch" capability. The Watch: one press of the crown brings up the main control center. Here I can pick what feature I would like to open. ( Exercise, Phone, Alarm, Sleep, Steps, Heart Rate, Period Tracker, Breathing exercise to relieve stress, Stress tracker, Standing Reminder, alarm clock, phone, camera, weather, music, Blood Oxygen, Alexa, Focus, Notifications, Display, Sounds, Timers, World clock, Picture Taking, and more ! It is super easy to maneuver through the icons and interact with them. I can receive calls and make calls right from the watch and the volume level is not bad at all. Since wearing the watch I have been challenging myself to do 10,000 steps per day, and I have already hit my mark. I wear my watch all day to track my activity. Extra Features : There is also a flashlight which provides 3 levels of brightness of the face of the watch. Mute button, Vibration alerts, Locking Icon, Do not disturb and an option to always have the display on which does drain the battery quicker. It is also quipped with a battery indicator and a bluetooth connectivity alert. I can read all my text messages right from my watch screen and even make a call. This watch is truly Packed with so many features that I am blown away on how affordable it is. I am extremely happy with my watch, especially the bone white color of the strap which happens to match my phone case. Truly deserves 5 Stars across the board !!
