I purchased these carpet tiles for an upstairs hallway. Besides going around the stairwell, I had 4 doorways to deal with, but these were so easy to put down! I found the best way to cut them was to mark the bottom and use a metal straight edge and sharp box cutter. It made a nice, clean cut. They adhere very well. When laying the tiles next to each other, I found it worked best to slightly pull up the edge of the one that was already installed and then press the two down together. This kept the carpet fibers from getting caught in between or underneath the two tiles, and therefore I cannot see any lines. The only thing I might recommend is to order one or two boxes more than you think you will need. When I measured, I measured the whole room and ordered the amount I should have needed for that area. I did not deduct anything for the stairwell, which is about a 35" x 80" area. With that large of an area where no carpet was needed, I figured I would have enough carpet left over to put in the small 24" x 40" closet, but I used every last square for the hallway floor and all I have left are a bunch of narrow strips from around the edges. Nothing I can use in the closet. I have put down carpet in rooms before. I would say it is more time consuming to put down the tiles than a full carpet, but it was a lot easier than wrestling with a large piece of carpet when I'm all by myself. And much easier dealing with 18 inches than with 8 feet (or 18) feet when the walls are not square! Overall, I am very happy with these tiles and would definitely order them again if I had any more carpeting to do. ... show more

K, first, i was thrown off by the description cause it said 18x18 then later says 18x3 so it is 18x18. Second, i did a 13'x13' room with. 4'x8' closet and used 10 boxes so if you wonder how much youll need and not up on how much maybe thatll help. Color is very good but not as thick as i thought. Padding is denser (like memory) foam whichales it wasy to trim and place. Im actually impressed by it. Made sure to butt the pieces together and once pressed down they look great. Cost is about the same for me to gave bought roll but considering i can change out any stained pieces at any time i think ill like this ... show more

I bought these to apply to my tile floor because our dog is getting old and slides in the floor. I decided to move them to another spot but the adhesive stuck to the floor and I had to scrub it off (it’s already pre-applied). Also, the carpet fibers kept coming out, and there were plastic strings peeling off the sides and I was afraid my cats would choke on them. They should have a silicone backing like the ones on my steps. You can remove them to clean underneath, and then put them back. These are not like that. Once you apply them, you cannot move them unless uou want a big mess on your hands, and then you can’t reuse them. ... show more

I installed this yesterday, 300sq ft, by myself and it went down pretty easy. At first It looked like the adhesive was going to be iffy, but it held tight right away. It looks mostly seamless and the spots you can see I think will disappear after a few vacuumings. It feels almost silky to walk on! I don't know about durability but it does look pretty sturdy. I need to patch a few of my corners, so I ordered a few of the 783 Ironside samples just by chance, hoping they would be somewhat similar to my carpet and I’m super impressed! Not sure how exact the other ones are, but this one is true to the color you see. The padding looks like a decent thickness too. It doesn’t seem like the adhesive is that sticky, just as some of the other reviews said, so I’d recommend a good carpet tape, but otherwise it’s a great buy for a cheap fix! I only have positive feedback about these carpet tiles. They are lightweight, easy to cut if necessary and super easy to install. I was transitioning my son's old room into my new bedroom and I didn't want to spend a lot of money or time on it. I was working alone on this project and I had other things to tend to as well. These carpet tiles were such a good value for my money because they allowed me to remove and replace the old carpet piece by piece. For a 60 year old woman working alone I think I did a pretty good job. Just keep all of the tiles pointing in the direction of the arrows located on the bottom and you should have no issues. One note though is that I realized that in order to get no lines in the carpet around the edges , you will have to make sure to pull as many fibers straight up so that they don't get stuck downward under the carpet.
