However once reading through the included instructions and going to the downloadable app, I found connecting these to the Alexa device was very simple.     • App is not intuitive; no sunrise/sunset capability
These light bulbs work well for simple on/off and dimming. My only complaints with them is that the app is not intuitive (appears to have been designed in another language, and translation was not effective--one of the settings in the automation is "left time", not sure if that is a timer for how long it stays on or how long until it comes on, and the automation is hard enough to set up I don't want to risk playing around now that I got it set up the way I need it). Also, no ability for a sunrise/sunset type dimming on a timer, it's simply on or off, at whatever light intensity you set it for. It did connect with my google home without issues. ... show more

    • Questionable performance.
I gave this product a low review for several reasons. 1) One of the bulbs I received keeps deregistering itself and becomes unrecognized in the app, and has to be completely readded. (This bulb is in a group of 5 that is less than 10 feet from my router, and the rest work fine even in other rooms) Edit: Two days later another light is failing 2) The app for adding new lights is deeply worrying, you have to enter your router password manually - there is no token sharing and your credentials may be sent to other places/countries. I don't have my PC and tools to check this app's traffic so I can't verify this 3) The amount of variation in brightness is low. 5% brightness looks like what 20% should be. 4) No philips hue integration, you *have to* use the aforementioned non-secure app. ... show more

I installed them in the kitchen, which needs four lights. Out of the four bulbs I ordered, one doesn't turn on like it should. I removed and reinstalled it, but it turns on sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. There were early issues when some of the lights didn't turn on, but it must have been a glitch.     • Does what it's supposed to do
I purchased these lightbulbs because I'm lazy and wanted to avoid getting out of bed to turn my bedroom light on and off. It works and pairs very well with my eco dot and Alexa app. I used one bulb in my Floor lamp and it works great. However the one bulb that I have installed in my chandelier is not doing so great. Whenever the light is on at 100% the bulb flickers and it's getting really annoying. Not sure if this is an issue with the wiring or the bulb. I would recommend this product if you are using it for floor lamps or side table lanps. ... show more

    • They wont connect to the wifi despite exhaustive troubleshooting.
I could never get them to connect. I spent hours messing with them trying to get them to connect to my wifi, and at first I thought it was because of different signal strengths. So I chatted with my internet provider TWICE, and finally figured out how to change it so only my 2.4 might channel was available. And it STILL wouldn't work. I've had these less than four months and one of the light bulbs has already gone out. I don't know what's wrong with it and I don't think they sell single light bulbs. I would have to get all four light bulbs again and if I have to keep doing this it can get quite expensive.

    • It's always offline
When it works its cool but it hardly ever does. For some reason, it can't be used on 5g wifi and mine always defaults to that. Everytime I open the app to use it...it tells me it's offline and needs to be reset. I bought it so I didn't have to get up to turn off the lights!
