About the sensitivity adjustment: Press the LEARN+MODE ERSET buttons simultaneously, and the three lights flash together, meaning the sensitivity adjustment mode has been entered. Place the induction key at the sensing distance you need. After the sensitivity setting is successful, the farther the key is from the door, the farther the sensing distance will be. The closer it is placed, the closer the sensing distance will be. Then turn the sensitivity dial to receive the sensing distance you placed (the resistance to turning the sensitivity button will be relatively large to prevent accidental touch. If it is difficult to turn, please use tools to turn it). When it is turned to a suitable position, the three lights will flash six times at an interval of 0.5 seconds, which means that the distance acceptance has been completed. Had this door for a month and very happy with it! Sturdy, it shuts tight and is a good price! The key-fob took a little time to adjust so it didn't randomly set the door off at further distances. (first battery died in 1 week. However, it lite up red when it was low, which was good to know before it failed) after we adjusted door setting, the battery seems good and at now over 3 weeks. Cats stay in and dog can go out when we are at work. It's quiet. You do need a little knowledge of how to use power tools and how to cut into a metal house door. Seal it with silicone along the edges. Not 100 percent weather proof, air will blow through the cracks a little... I will insulating the inside half of the door with a foam cover and velcro to keep our cold winter air out at night. ... show more

We purchased this door in order to keep our kitten inside when she started following our dog out our old doggie door. Well, this new door does NOT work—the door doesn’t “catch” in the correct position, causing the lock to engage and then keeps the door from opening at all (thus, locking out our dog). Then, the lock wouldn’t engage quickly enough, so our cat would still follow the dog out the door even though the cat does not have the chip on her collar. TODAY OUR KITTEN GOT OUT AND HAS NOT RETURNED! We fear the worst has happened. Thanks for a wasted $200 and probably the loss of our sweet fur baby. ... show more

The first key didn't work, and was replaced. It takes 2 batteries, not 1 (and yes, I did try that in the first key before requestinga replacement). The batteries in the door only last about a month (no warning). The range of the key is unreliable, no matter the sensitivity. When the batteries in the door die, it locks the door. Instal was good. Size is pretty large my 80 pound hound dog fits through it nice. Area of concern. Operation: some times the flap doesn’t close all the way. That not good we got it to keep the kitten inside. The lock: it takes 3 seconds to lock back once it unlocks. The problem it constantly unlocks, I have the sensitivity turned all the way down. It unlocks when the key is no where near it. This is not good. At $200 this defeats the purpose of a keyed lock. ... show more

This was easy to install and it works pretty decently. I wish it was a little sturdier and the automatic portion is a little slow, but this is not bad. It is worth what you pay for it.

    • A really expensive "dumb" dog door
Don't wait your money - the fobs don't work. I have tried different fobs, different batteries, etc. The fobs burn through batteries and last less than 2 days so then the dog can't get through the door. What is the point of paying so much for a door I have to leave unlocked all the time anyway? But now I cut the door and have it installed so I have leave it vs. return. Note that I did test the fobs before installing - they "worked" but they aren't functional in the sense that it isn't realistic to change the battery daily and it isn't a defective fob b/c they are all like that. ... show more

I installed this dog door for my dog on my back door. I am really pleased with how easy it was to install and with how well this dog door functions. Nice durable build quality.
