Had this door for a month and very happy with it! Sturdy, it shuts tight and is a good price! The key-fob took a little time to adjust so it didn't randomly set the door off at further distances. (first battery died in 1 week. However, it lite up red when it was low, which was good to know before it failed) after we adjusted door setting, the battery seems good and at now over 3 weeks. Cats stay in and dog can go out when we are at work. It's quiet. You do need a little knowledge of how to use power tools and how to cut into a metal house door. Seal it with silicone along the edges. Not 100 percent weather proof, air will blow through the cracks a little... I will insulating the inside half of the door with a foam cover and velcro to keep our cold winter air out at night. ... show more

I'm super impressed with the quality of this doggie door. This is an electronic smart automatic dog door, that is very well designed and constructed. It is clear that the designer used quality and premium material to construct this. The install was not so difficult, and the end result is that our dog is extremely happy with the new dog door. Our last one was catching and not opening as it should. This is a larger dog door, and they recommend it for weights less than 85 lbs. One thing I really love about this dog door is the mere fact you can assign up to 5 pets to access the door. This door can be used for Cats or Dogs. So I do appreciate that versatility. Below, I will outline some of the other features that led to me choosing this one over other similar ones on the market. *Design: Smart Design-3 mode locked/unlocked- Sensor- Assign to up 5 pets to access and use this door *Lock is sold separately - Batteries are NOT included (CR2032) Batteries *Dimensions for your reference: 3.1 x 17.13 x 24.8 with a weight of 8.78 lbs All in all, I find that the designer did a great job with this dog smart door. The unit has worked as it should. I have found no issues of defects or damage to the unit. This has made a big difference in the daily life of our fur baby.     • Automatic Door doesn't work
It won’t do what you’re hoping it does. The door won't allow a specific pet entry and exit from the home. I paid for it, did not receive it for free, and it doesn’t work. Following the sensitivity setting instructions still won't allow for the door to unlock and lock properly. The sensor takes over 5 seconds to lock after the pet has left, which means that any other animals you have can simply follow your tagged animal out of the house. And then be locked outside. The door also unlocks even when the key is not nearby. I'm thankful I tested the product before cutting into my door/wall. Returning this item ASAP ... show more

Instal was good. Size is pretty large my 80 pound hound dog fits through it nice. Area of concern. Operation: some times the flap doesn’t close all the way. That not good we got it to keep the kitten inside. The lock: it takes 3 seconds to lock back once it unlocks. The problem it constantly unlocks, I have the sensitivity turned all the way down. It unlocks when the key is no where near it. This is not good. At $200 this defeats the purpose of a keyed lock. ... show more

    • Excellent pet door if you live near wildlife
I'm surprised this hasn't become more widespread, this is a fantastic and necessary invention if you live in an area with lots of wildlife. We usually supervise when we leave the door open, but now we can leave it up to the cat and let her come and go as she pleases without worrying about other things getting in. This a solid door that feels great for security against human thieves too. Installing it wasn't too difficult, but keep in mind this can be bigger than expected, this is quite large. The plus side is that it's probably easy to coax pets into using it. Our cat already knew how to use cat doors, but this swings open in welcome making it even easier, and the opening is quite bigger. If you have multiple pets, you can buy additional keys to let all of them use this without other animals getting in. If you live near an area with lots of strays or wildlife, this feels like an excellent product. ... show more

    • Well Made Doggy Door But One Size Does NOT Fit All
This door is solid looking and well made. The hinges are sturdy, and I love the idea of a door that locks out wildlife. I was genuinely looking forward to having a doggy door that helped ease my anxiety over animals getting into our house via our traditional doggy door. Snakes or racoons at 3 am (or discovered in the kitchen while getting your first coffee) do NOT make for a fun way to start your day. Unfortunately, this door will not work out for us. This door is way too big for my little dog (10 lbs.) and it is only available in one size, something that wasn't totally apparent from the posting and descriptions. Sadly, it is just way too big for our home unless we cut through concrete. :( ... show more
