Description

Imagine a place where there's a queen of all pancakes, a king of cookies and a pack of over-protective dragons. If this sounds like something out of a dream, it actually is! Sleeping Queens was invented by 6-year-old Miranda Evarts, who thought up the game one night when she couldn't fall asleep. She awoke the next morning and with help from her older sister, Madeleine and her parents, Denise and Max created this wonderfully whimsical world of napping nobles. As you immerse yourself in the Evarts's fantasyland, you will find a game that helps develop memory, strategy, and elementary arithmetic skills. Just be careful when playing potion cards or you could wind up putting all the players to sleep! From the Manufacturer A Royalty rousing Card Game. Rise and Shine! The Pancake Queen, The Ladybug Queen and ten of their closest friends have fallen under under a sleeping spell and it's your job to wake them up. Use strategy, quick thinking and a little luck to wake these napping nobles from their royal slumbers. Play a knight to steal a queen or take a chance on a juggling jester. But watch out or wicked potions and dastardly dragon! The player who wakes the most queens wins. Ages 8 . 2-5 layers can play this game in approx.. 15 minutes. Contains 79 playing cards and rules of play in English.

  • No stereotypes worries!

We play this game by the normal rules, and then we play it backwards - the queens wake the kings, the power cards work opposite (dragons fight off the knights, potion reverses the sleeping wands), and the jester count goes backwards right to left). This keeps things silly and fresh trying to remember the rules! Just remember to declare which version you are playing at the start of each game. I wish they would create an expansion pack for this great family card game! ... show more

  • Fun for all ages, our 6-year old caught on quickly!

We bought this for our 6-year old granddaughter and had our hesitations. The game play seemed a little complicated and at 6 she still gets frustrated easily. She LOVES this game, wants to play it constantly! Another concern was that the game would be offensive to relatives who are sensitive to gender roles. Although a Knight wakes up the Queen, doesn't have a damsel-in-distress vibe. Nothing else about the game was gender related. The game was well tolerated and actually became a fun way for all to interact. ... show more

  • Fun game for 5 year old+

I play this with my 5 year old and her older sibling and it's a good time. Easy to learn, and fun enough to keep wanting to play. Some games are quick, while some may take 10 minutes, but always a good time.

  • Granddaughter loved it.

Got this game for my granddaughter for Christmas after learning how much another 7 1/2 year old family member from another state loved it. She had me playing it with her from the time she got up until she went to bed. We did break to eat, but that was about it. She's only 5 1/2 but caught on very quickly and absolutely loved it. ... show more

  • It's a great game! Fun to play.

We bought this multiple years ago for my daughter when she was a fair amount younger. We have played it many times and I still think it is an enjoyable game. It is oriented a bit toward a younger audience, but I think it is fun regardless. Good, simple, quick game.

  • Our favorite game

This game is perfect for ages 5-6-7. It has characters that little girls like, and includes memory and math skills without them being “work”. The perfect gift too. Box is small, game doesn’t take up much room. A+++
