The media could not be loaded. Decided to remodel my fireplace because it was old and dated. Bought this burner as it was stainless and available for "One-Day" shipping. One issue is with the "One-Day" shipping, elaborated below. Installation was pretty easy, but I am also very handy. Installed the NPT fittings using SWAK compound on the threads. Went a 1/2 to full turn past finger tight to what felt right regarding tightness. Installed the flare fitting tubing WITHOUT pipe compound and torqued those based on experience. Tested the burner and conducted a leak check. As for the rock look, I laid down a base of 1/8 in lava rock and installed the burner. Layered more lava rock till it was level with the top of the burner layered vermiculite over the burner, and then placed 1/2-1 inch lava rock over the top of the burner, approximately 20 lbs. Poured a 10 lbs bag of amber fire glass on top and arranged it till I liked the look. Looks amazing and functions well. #1 issue: At a range of gas flows, there is a hiss, ranging from loud but mosquito-around-ear. Kinda annoying and I am going to have to figure out how to get rid of it. However, if you avoid that range it is quiet. #2 issue: "One Day" shipping and it's not the seller's fault, it's Amazon. Arrived in the greater metroplex the day it was supposed. Sat at one distribution center overnight. Arrived at a distribution center near my house the next morning, and received notification that I wouldn't receive it for another 2 days. Called up customer service for the details/reasoning. No additional details, no reason. Rep kept asking me when an "acceptable" day would be for the item to arrive. Had to repeat "Today, which is one day late" close to 10 times. Told them I didn't understand why they couldn't deliver it when it was less than 5 miles from my house. After complaining I received notification that it would be at my house in less than 4 hours. ... show more

Installed this burner in a fireplace with fire glass. Makes a nice flame and is quiet so far. It's built well, so I expect it to last a while. Gonna use it a lot when the weather cools down.

Easy install. Replaces old/stale remote control fire logs. No whistling. The 18 inch was perfect for my smallish fireplace (21" back, 29" front wide, and 17 inch front to back depth. No whistling. Installed 60lbs of Blue Aqua reflective glass over it and gives off perfect simple equal flame....looks good on high or low. ... show more

Read the reviews, but don't get most of them. This looks great but the flex pipe it comes with causes it to whistle VERY LOUD. We changed it to the one from our old vented log set and whistling stopped but it has such a loud hiss sound even on the lowest setting. It's so distracting while watching TV. The flame looks great but not sure I can tolerate the noise. We will see. If I had to do again I would spend the money on a more expensive model THATS HOPEFULLY QUIET. Just my opinion. ... show more
