  • Great sound & comfortable
Color: True Black
With ear buds there's really five areas of importance when reviewing ear buds and these are 5☆ in each category. #1 Sound, these are some of the best I've tried. #2 Comfort. Included are multiple sized replaceable ear cushions. #3 Long lasting/well built. #4 Options to turn the volume up/down, answer calls & skip forward or rewind. Which these all do and then some. #5 Noise canceling. These ear buds have this option and they work great. The only, small complaint I could find was for this 56 yr old, there are more options utilized by touching the ear buds that I'll never use. Since there are so many options, accidental touches and therefore changes to your desired setting is likely. Bottom line, they're a great buy and sound great. ... show more

  • Great!
Color: True Black
Sounds slightly better than the Indy Evo, and way better than the Jib True 2. Sure it has ambient and ANC modes, I didn't really purchase them for the noise cancelling. Cant really comment, its my first set of earbuds with ANC. I did notice that the ANC makes the bass quite overpowering, even boomy. Charging the earbuds seems more reliable. The magnets seems stronger. I found the Indy Evo charging really unreliable. The earbuds wouldn't contact the pins in the case. Either earbud can be used in solo mode. Either earbud will function as the primary earbud. Swapping is seamless, no disconnection or pauses when dropping one earbud in to charge. You only need one pairing setup on your device. Some other models of Skullcandy you would have two pairings on your phone, one for each earbud, which would result in disconnections or pauses when dropping one earbud in to charge. Above the Indy Evos, these support AAC. Finding the earbuds with Tile is easy, chirps are way louder than any other earbud. ... show more

  • Good, with caveats
Color: True Black
TL;DR: These are good, Skullcandy-quality earbuds with impeccable battery life and fancy features - but there's a reason for the price point and a big opportunity cost at MSRP. At current 64% discount, buy these without a second thought. Skullcandy is known for making decent-to-good headsets and earbuds at a reasonable price. The Indy ANC holds up to that well, being packed with features usually reserved for pricier earbuds and coming in at 129.99 MSRP. However, you should ask yourself this: "Do I really need this?" If you're looking for a hassle-free, good set of earbuds that won't break the bank, you'll be *far* better served by a set of Sesh or Jib True/Jib True XT 2 earbuds. They're both completely serviceable, but much cheaper - and also lack a few features and bugs of the Indy. Now, if you're still hooked on the idea of active noise canceling (ANC) and 9 hours of standard mode battery life, read on. The Indy delivers on most of its promises. the ANC is absolutely amazing for the price point, I had no idea what to expect but it definitely wasn't what I got. With ANC enabled, the world goes absolutely silent except for brief noises. Every bit of low and mid range background noise is completely negated, to the point where it made my ears feel a little weird without music: it's a similar feeling to when you're in a shop after hours or being in a solid log cabin. It's literally just your breathing and whatever you can feel through your body, which is really trippy but makes listening to music much clearer. Ambient mode is also very useful and works as intended, you'll get good passthrough of most ambient noises. It's not as if you don't have earbuds in, but it's much better than the normal awareness reduction from earbuds of this type. Once you've found out that neither of these options are worth compromising the absolutely epic 9 hours of battery life on a single charge, you'll be greeted with a very mild listening experience: if you have access to a music player with EQ. If you like bass, bass and more bass you will be well served by Skullcandy's default EQ settings for music. They offer a movie and podcast mode as well, and all of these settings are built into the earbud and can be changed without the Skullcandy app, but I just made a new preset in VLC and called it a day. If you can tame the bass, mids and highs are clear and reasonably crisp but not stellar. It's all good, nothing to sneeze at, it's just not "knock your socks off" fantastic, which is totally in line with what should be expected from this company. Fit and finish is as expected, everything is kind of just "there". Build quality is good, the materials all feel solid enough. The rubberized loops that are toward the top of the buds make for an extremely positive retention in the ear, along with the silicone tips that are surprisingly high quality and work almost as well as earplugs. Lastly, the battery is incredible: you have 9 hours of listening time on the earbuds in a single charge, another 3 or 4 in the case if you keep it topped up all the time, and you'll get 2 hours of listening time from just 10 minutes in the case. As someone who is an absolute music addict, that's extremely important, because I'm never without my fix for more than 10 minutes, and if you're someone with reasonable levels of self control it's very easy to just top up the earbuds as you listen. I can see no legitimate use case where the battery setup here is anything less than amazing. If you need more than what these offer, get something that takes 3.5mm and be done with it, or go for headphones. 9 hours of battery in this form factor is a technological marvel. Unfortunately, this is where the good news ends. These earbuds have been nothing short of unreliable with my device. They stay connected, but frequent dropouts and the occasional crash have occurred in my ~1 week of usage and show no signs of stopping. It's likely not my device: I am running these with a Samsung A53 5g with no problems on the phone, it's all the earbuds. I can expect a total sound dropout from both earbuds at least once hourly, but it resolves itself in a second or two. I had one crash where my left earbud completely froze on one note, which required a quick trip to the case for a minute or so to resolve. It completely disconnected once, which for a week of usage is very normal for any true wireless earbud. If you want wireless earbuds, you're sadly going to have to live with the fact that Bluetooth is not perfect and will always have spotty connections and dropouts from time to time. The problem is that the Jib True and XT 2 version thereof lack this problem: both have been totally seamless aside from the occasional pairing issue after being mothballed for a week or more. It's mildly disappointing that earbuds well over triple the price of the Jibs has such a comparative problem with connection. Aside from that, the only other dings I can offer are for ANC: if there is any kind of very loud noise, the earbuds aren't able to handle it, and you end up with a very unpleasant feedback. Serves me right for using an industrial air gun no more than 4' away from the mics, and 90% of people won't have to worry about this, but there's a possibility that other noises could trigger the issue, and I feel like I should mention it. All in all, if you're looking for a relatively cheap intro to ANC and a pretty solid set of earbuds with truly outstanding battery life, these are for you. If you're looking for something wireless that plays music, there are better picks by this company and others. If you're looking for a perfect ANC experience, prepare your wallet, because you're just not finding that south of $100-$150. At time of review, these are on a steep 64% discount. That makes them a sub-$50 option, very close to the Jibs and other very good options from other companies. Would I take these over another, slightly less expensive option knowing that these would have spotty connection and the occasional freeze? Absolutely, for the exclusive reason that these are fast-charge enabled and have a whopping 9 hours of listening time without ANC. You can't find that in most earbuds, period, much less one at this price point. And, for just under $50, you could pick up one of these and a pair of Jibs for less than some competitor earbuds aiming for this niche - and you'll have 2 pairs of earbuds for practically unlimited and uninterrupted listening. I wouldn't purchase these at MSRP, not by a longshot, but on sale these are a great buy. ... show more

  • Do not buy these
Color: True Black
So, I really did not know what to expect. I have heard about Skullcandy, I have seen their products in Best Buy, but I’ve never owned any of their headphones. I have a pair of beats solo Pro. I was looking for earbuds that have the same functionality as far as active noise cancellation, and transparency mode. I also wanted to make sure that the sound is great. I like to have a lot of bass. And I also like to have clear highs and lows. However, I really did not feel like spending $249 on Apple AirPods Pro. Plus, I think the Apple AirPods Pro our grade buds, but I believe that they don’t have enough bass I’ve done a decent amount of research on different buds. I looked at brands like monster and anchor, and I’ve looked at last known brands that are out there that are probably are coming out of China. However, I have not been able to find exactly what I am looking for. I came across Skullcandy Indy ANC purely by accident. I saw a few reviews that are written on Amazon, and I was able to find some YouTube video reviews as well. So, these arrived today. I am so happy. So, the buds are matte black and color. The case is Matt black as well with LED battery indicators on the front. Case looks very similar to Apple AirPods Pro. The way that the buds said inside the case is very familiar as well. The presentation is very nice. And appears to be made from quality cardboard and paper. There is a nice foam centerpiece inside the box that holds the case and the buds. There are also some papers that tell you about the product. There is a USB type C charger and cable. A baggie with two different Sizes of ear tips. In the baggie there is also a smaller pair of the wingtips. I was worried that the wingtips will be made out of hard plastic. They are soft and rubbery just like the tips. There is an app that’s associated that downloading is probably a good idea. On the app you can set up your own sound profile. The buds will create sound that best fits for your ears. That’s pretty cool. Through the app you can also control the noise cancellation and the transparency mode. Also, you can control the EQ. On the app is included user guide. Warrantee information product registration and other things. I also did find a YouTube video from Skullcandy that has the QuickStart guide. I thought that was way more helpful than the user guide alone. Everything that you can think of as far as controls, can be done directly on the buds. The logos on the buds are touch controls. It’s a little to get used to, but after a few times, it becomes natural. After setting up the sound, I am not sure what they sound like without setting up sound profile, is actually very very nice. The base is good it’s not overpowering. It’s nice and crisp. The highs and meds are very very nice. The lows are nice. I am very impressed with the sound quality of these buds. The call quality is very good. The interaction with your voice assistant is very simple and intuitive. Personally, when listening to music, and watching YouTube videos and movies on my phone, I think for those things, the movie mode in the EQ works the best. Both the noise canceling and the transparency modes are very good as well. There is definitely a very noticeable difference when switching between the two. There is also a normal mode where active noise canceling and transparency is turned off. I honestly think that there is not a lot of very noticeable difference of the sound of whatever you might be listening to when switching between these three modes, which is actually very good. To summit all up, I I am very happy with these buds. I like how they feel in my ears. The fit and finish is super nice. The controls are intuitive. The sound quality is very very good. I have not fully drained them, so I cannot tell you how my batteries lasted. But if you want to see the battery specs, you can read the description of the item. Apparently these retails for $130. Amazon had them on sale for $99. I am not sure how long this deal is going to be available. For what you’re getting, that’s a really good price. Even the full price of $130 is still a good price for what you’re getting because it’s still less than its main competition. I would definitely buy again, and I would definitely recommend these. So, this is an update. When I picked up these headphones, they were new. There was not a lot of information available online. No, it appears that my left Bud went out. Of course, it’s after the return window. After researching, left bud going out apparently is a common issue with these headphones. I contacted Amazon. Nothing they could do it. I was told to contact the manufacturer. Will be contacting the manufacturer today or tomorrow. Will post an update to see what happens. This is an update. I am changing my review from five stars to one star. When I first received the item, I was very happy with these headphones. They sounded great. They function great. They were exactly what I was looking for. A few days ago, and my left headphone went out. After doing research on these headphones online, and reading technical forums, I found out that apparently it’s a common issue with these that either the left or the right will go out. Hi contacted Amazon to see if I could get some assistance, and Amazon was unable or unwilling to help. Because it is past the 30 day return window. They were not willing to take into consideration the fact that these are perhaps defective from the manufacture because of the fact that either the left or the right going out is a very common issue. I contacted the manufacturer to see if I can make a warranty claim. I can because they are covered for two years with manufacturers warranty. That’s also a pain in the ass. I have to go to the website, print out a form, or fill out a form online, then print it, then print a shipping label. Take it to a post office or UPS or FedEx. And if I make a warranty claim and ship it back to them, I am the one that hast to pay the shipping costs. The manufacturer does not want to cover shipping costs. I honestly wish that I would have just spent the extra money and bought the Apple AirPods Pro. At least when it comes to Apple products, Apple stands behind their products 100%. And I can take that product into any Apple store or any store like Best Buy that is a certified Apple retailer, and my items can be exchanged with no question asked. Lesson learned. Knowing what I know now, as far as these headphones having the common issue of either the left or the right going out, I would not have purchased these. And I do not recommend you purchasing them either because you will be faced with the same issue that I’m having right now. Save your money, spend the extra cash, and buy the Apple AirPods Pro. ... show more
