  • Love these tools
I love these tools. They are a little longer than standards combination wrenches, which gives a little extra leverage, which is great. I can also see where the extra length would be an issue but I haven't run into that yet. The ratcheting side is very smooth. Fantastic. Love it. Very short arc makes it easy to use. I don't have another set of ratcheting wrenches to compare them too but the ratchet end doesn't seem to thick or fat, so it shouldn't get in the way too often. It is naturally fatter than a standards box end wrench, so if the nut/bolt is very close to a obstacle, you may not get the ratchet around over the nut due to the obstacle. When replacing a fan clutch, I did have to use the open end side for a bit to get the head of the bolt in far enough to the the box end under the fan clutch and over the head of the bolt. Not a deal breaker, you just have to know that going in. Don't over loosen the bolt or the tool will be trapped. They seem very strong. The finish on the tools is fantastic and cleans up easily. Time to save up for the other set. ... show more

  • As good or better than Snap On!!!
Received this set a few days ago. Comparing this set with my USA made Craftsman set that I've had for many years it's like a big brother side-by-side with a younger brother. The SK wrenches are quite a bit larger than the Craftsman wrench of the same bolt size. I see this as a statement of the quality of SK tools compared to other tool makers. Even the high polished chrome finish looks superior to the same finish on the Craftsman wrenches. On to the movement of the tool. The ratchet movement of the SK wrenches feel like a highly precise mechanism with very tight tolerances and a very smooth movement. Length of travel between teeth engagement is superior to the Craftsman wrench. IMO these SK wrenches are top quality, and for this price they're a better value than Snap On. I know making this claim will raise doubt with some people. But, I can say this with no uncertainty having used Williams, Blue Point, and Snap-On tools for many years on the job. I have no doubt these SK tools will out live me and provide many years of reliable use as they are passed down to my son and on to his son. ... show more

  • Top of the line wrenches!!
I have been wanting a set of these wrenches for a while, now that I have them I wish I didn't wait as long as I did! These are unreal! Not only do they look almost too nice to use, they perform absolutely flawless!!! If your thinking of getting a set..don't wait do it now! Extremely smooth, well built, a great addition to any tool box, I have a few different top end sets and these are definately my go to set! Amazing quality for the price, and best of all made in the USA! ... show more

  • Made in USA, Quality
My wife ordered this set for me in August, it's now December. I have had the occasion to use the wrenches several times since and they have not disappointed. The chrome looks good and the ratcheting action is as smooth as can be. I wish I had bought this set sooner. Made in America, nice quality, far less expensive than the tool trucks with no sacrifice in quality. ... show more

  • Good concept, not durable
Worked fine at first, and honestly this was an amazing idea due to the unmatched swing arch. I bought for the 6 point ratcheting wrench portion to prevent slippage but these suck, any sort of resistance on the 13mm or smaller causes it to start stripping teeth. I am a mechanic by trade so I do use my tools every day, but I need my tools so I dont abuse them, SK used to be a for mechanic tool and these do not hold up. Also the open end tolerances seem to be a bit large compared to Matco and Snap-on wrenches. IMO, wayyyy to expensive when theres a ton of other brands that have a quality tool that works. ... show more

  • Very stout wrench set..
These are by far the finest wrenches I've used. Picking it up off the rack gives an instant feeling of quality and leaves no doubt that you have just purchased a tool that should last a lifetime. The ratcheting mechanism is silky smooth, has a much finer tooth count than the Gearwrench/ Husky options I used in the past, and the 6 point design makes them perfect in my opinion. Company advertising suggests because of its design the ratcheting action can handle more torque than competitors and after several months of use I certainly agree with that claim. I just wish they had a larger SAE set to go along with this one... ... show more

  • Fine tooth!!!
These wrenches are really nice! Prior to buying these I read several reviews that talked about defects in the finish. I observed no defects in mine. I own several S & K tools and know them to be a fine, made in USA brand. The arc swing on them is super tight! I have never used a gear wrench like this before. You barely have to move it to get it to ratchet. The only draw back is I wish the boxed end was 12 point instead of 6. I also am curious to see how the ratchet will hold up under use. We do a lot of heavy truck repair and the tools get really greasy. I’m concerned dirt and grime will work its way into the paws on this very fine tooth ratcheting system. Time will tell, but as of now very impressed. ... show more

  • Lovely tools, why don't they offer a corresponding SAE set
Lovely tools. Very expensive, but I try hard to support the US economy when I can. Years ago I purchased a set of Craftsman ratcheting wrenches with manufacturing code indicating "Danaher" manufacturing. They are very poorly made course ratcheting and I suspect would fail with a substantial torque applied. The ratcheting mechanism is very loosely seated in the wrench itself. These SK wrenches on the other hand are truly well made, fun to use and admire. I don't understand why SK does not offer a corresponding SAE set - they offer a limited on but not as extensive as the metric set. Made in USA. ... show more
