These blanket are the best ones I have bought for both my son's. I bought the 5 lbs airplanes for my 2 yr old and 7 lbs dinosaurs for my 7 yr old. These blankets are cool feeling but yet comforting. After searching and reading hundreds of reviews in different brands of weighted blankets and weighing pros and cons for them, I decided to go with this one and omg has it been a godsend! The first night we used it for my daughter she slept SO WELL!! She has a very difficult time falling asleep for quite some time now, we started seeing a slew behavior specialist and she recommended a weighted blanket for her. I purchased this one when we got home from our initial appointment and I have NOT been disappointed with this blanket yet, and I don’t think I ever will be. My daughter loves the design on it. Perfect for my 5 year old with special needs! My husband and I have been searching for a quality blanket small enough for her. We have only had to wash it a few times. I used oxiclean and the delicate cycle on my washer then hung it up to dry. Only took a few hours to be completely dry. You just have to remember to spread the beads around in each pocket after doing that so that don’t stay stuck together. With this blanket I can put him to bed and he still feels the security of a hug from the weight which keeps him asleep. Nice weight. This would probably be too heavy for most small kids. My son is a big 11 year old- 115lbs and this is prefect. he is very sensory seeking and loves the weight. It feels like a ton of bricks on me, but he loves it- and that's what matters! Also we have had to wash this and it held up. Washed on gently cycle and air dried - took a couple days. I wanted this to work for my tiny toddler but it’s just not heavy enough. It did feel super soft. But the beads didn’t seem distributed around equally. I returned it and considered buying a heavier one, but ultimately decided to go with another handmade product. It was only about $10 more for handmade and it had perfect distribution of weight.
