  • > DOES THE JOB
FEATURES OF SISTEMA KLIP-IT CONTAINERS >> Absolute seal--achieved by "O-rings" >> Easy to open/close. You do not have to press the containers closed nor pry them open. Just place lid on top and "latch" closed, or unlatch and lift the lid off. >> The sides of most are nearly vertical, not inclined. So, you can't stack the bottoms inside one another. But that also means that there is no wasted space. >> For all practical purposes, you must store them with the lids on. But that also means you don't have to hunt for the lids. Containers of the same size stack well on top of one-another, and those with the same size top stack well. >> The top adds another 3/8" or so of usable space, so you can fill the containers "to the brim". CAUTION >> While the Sistema containers are nominally "dishwasher safe", any plastic can be damaged by the heating coils in your dishwasher. I learned this because my current Bosch dishwasher doesn't have a "drying" cycle, the metal pots and ceramics dishes dry from the heat they absorb from the washwater. The plastic doesn't dry at all---but it also remains undamaged, compared to my Frigidaire dishwasher which regularly damaged my plastic storage containers. Several other reviewers report that dishwashing the Sistema lids causes them to distort, and for the blue lock clips to become brittle and break. So, if you want your Sistema containers to last, either hand-wash them, or turn off the "dry" cycle of your dishwasher (or choose a cycle which "air dries"). You'll also save a lot of electricity ($$$). >> While the Sistema containers are nominally "microwave safe", any plastic can be damaged by overheating---especially the tops which can warp. While you can CAREFULLY warm up cold food in a Sistema container in a microwave: ALWAYS take the top off first. DO NOT attempt to cook anything in a Sistema container. >> While the Sistema containers are nominally "freezer safe", they are very brittle when "freezer cold". Do not drop them, and allow them to warm up a little before you try to open them. INTERIOR MEASUREMENTS of the container's I've purchased >> 101-ounce rectangular: 8 1/2" wide X 6" deep X 4" tall---top the same as "67.6 oz container" >> 67.6-ounce rectangular: 8 1/2" wide X 6" deep X 2 1/2" tall---top the same as "101 oz container" >> 15.2-ounce sandwich boxes: 5 1/4" X 5 1/4" X 1"---top same as "40-ounce lunch container" >> 40-ounce lunch container: 5 1/4" X 5 1/4" X 2 1/2" tall---top the same as "15.2 oz sandwich box container" USES > I have 4 101-oz containers, 2 67.6-oz containers, and 6 sandwich containers. Together this make up a "group picnic kit" >> The 101-Oz makes a great bread box. I use them for bread and chips. >> The 67.6-Oz makes a great cookie box. I use them for potato salad, and cole slaw. >> The 15.2-Oz is great for sandwiches. I use them for sliced cheese and lunchmeat. > Click on “Stoney” just below the product title to see my other reviews, or leave a comment to ask a question. ... show more

  • Love these containers!
Size: 236oz Pattern Name: Container
These bins are perfect for organizing supplies in closets. They are a perfect size for holding extra soaps, toothpaste, medication, first aid supplies, cosmetics, bathroom hardware, poufs and cloths, hair supplies, etc. The lid clamps are secure, so everything stays dry. They are designed to stack well. A stack of 3 is stable. I love these containers. Sistema products are made very well. (Other sizes are available, as well.) ... show more

  • Great to store cigars
Size: 169oz Pattern Name: Container
The cigar community has been using this container as a tupperdoor for years. Holds humidity well and relatively durable. The seal is good enough. Over time some air will get in that will dry out humidity packs and cigars, but takes months and a dry climate. The only container that holds better is a tupperdoor that was design to hold cigars. Durability is fine. My only worry is either the snap handles breaking off or the seal wearing out. Over the last two years neither have been an issue, but I have heard of it happening. The big thing to look out for is the price. When these are in short supple the price jumps dramatically. Highly recommend this product for cigar smokers looking to store their cigars in a no fuse matter. All you need is 65% boveda packs and you are ready to go. Digital hydrometer doesn't hurt either. ... show more

  • The Best Storage Containers I Have Purchased!
Size: 236oz Pattern Name: Container
My pantry and large deep kitchen drawers are filled with Sistema containers in every shape and size, and after trying every other brand on the market, I have become very loyal to Sistema despite their higher cost. I have a storage room in my house downstairs that is the size of a bedroom. On the floor are brown moving boxes stacked on top of each other. They are filled with craft supplies, organza bags, ribbon, soaps, photo backing boards, etc. Every time I am looking for something, I need to open the boxes. Nope, it's not in there! I recently added industrial shelving on two walls, and these extra large containers by Sistema, their largest (I purchased eight thus far) were the answer to better organization, and they can be labeled. They are sturdy, see-through and air tight, which is great for preserving the fragrance and life of soaps and potpourri. IMPORTANT: For reviewers who mentioned that the clips break, due to my "Sistema addiction", I have had plenty of experience with the side clips. My guess is that I have six to seven dozen containers from this brand, ranging in size from tiny two-inch salad dressing rounds to sandwich containers to the Bake-Its (small, medium and large), to large square, large rectangle, and these extra large 236-ounce. The larger containers have 4.5-inch (11.5 cm) clips on all four sides. Once I was a little rough with one of the smaller containers and a side clip flipped off, but it was easy to re-attach. With all of the larger containers, when I open and close them, I use two hands to press them down or lift them up. It takes only an extra second or two and is worth the time to prevent them from breaking off. I highly recommend these containers to anyone looking for the features mentioned. ... show more
