2 of my 3 girls like these, one only likes to play when I can’t really watch her. Tried to take a photo of that quickly but she was catching on that I could see her. These are very cute,I have catnip spray and keep toys in a catnip filled bag when they get bored of them so that tends to help. I curled the tail of these like a pretzel and they seem to like to uncurl them and play a bit. Pretty sure the momma of these gals never had toys for her first year till she moved into our yard so she still doesn’t play much with toys but likes to collect them.     • Meh. The pictures are misleading and they are stinky.
These are okay. My cats are kind of indifferent to them, as they smell pretty bad. When I first opened the package, the scent was very strong, but after airing out for a few days, you have to get pretty close to the toy to smell it. I don't know if it's the dye, or the smell they are advertising, but it just doesn't smell pleasant. The other thing about these toys is that they are kind of boring. I get that they don't have a wire in them, which is nice, but the images make it look like the rope has some type of structured bendability. Perhaps to make it springy or so that it bounces around unpredictably. This isn't the case. The rope is soft without any structure, so it's just like...a rope, hanging off a stuffed animal. My cats don't seem to feel inclined to play with these without prompting, but when I get their attention with them, they'll play with it for a few minutes. ... show more

I haven't received any cat toys before that were vacuum packed, so I found that to be interesting. I assume this is to keep the gall fruit scent trapped. I didn't know what gall fruits were so I looked them up. According to PetMd, gall fruits are from the silver vine plant: "The use of silver vine for cats is common in some Asian countries, and a cat’s reaction to it is known as the “matatabi dance.” Matatabi literally means “travel again” in Japanese and is also a nickname for silver vine since it causes some cats to wiggle around on the floor. According to research at Harvard University, one of the active ingredients in silver vine, nepetalactol, activates the reward and pleasure center in cat brains. This is comparable to the opioid system’s response to morphine in humans. However, silver vine is not addictive in cats." My cats have only experienced catnip before and only one of them responds to it. Both cats became visibly intoxicated while playing with these toys. They both fell on their sides and did the grab and kick behavior for longer than with any toys I've given them, probably 20 minutes of energetic play. After that initial frenetic play period, they haven't been that interested in playing with them. Maybe the scent evaporates fairly quickly and that's why the toys arrived vacuum packed? My kitties love these. They are a good size to pounce on and carry away while they play. The catnip is a great addition to this toy. I have enjoyed watching my cats have a good time!

These are a great value for a three pack. They are kind of weird little things, but so is our kitten! She lobes to play with the "tail" of the toy. We have a dog that loves toys, and he likes it too, but we try to keep it out of his reach. Tried to get a picture, but she isn't going for it! LOL!

So, I initially had high hopes for these toys, as upon first presentation, both of my cats rubbed themselves all over the catnip-filled portion of the toys and seemed highly excited (one is pictured here during said first presentation). However, that excitement only lasted for about 5 minutes total for all 3 ropes amongst both cats, and unfortunately never since returned. I do not think the catnip/silvervine blend is sufficiently strong to maintain their interest. It is a shame my cats did not maintain any interest in these, because the toys appear very well made, and it is hard to find cat toys that are good quality and/or not filled with dangerously disintegrating components that cats easily swallow. ... show more

These cat toys are really well made and because they’re made of cloth/rope, completely quiet. Even though it’s long, there’s some form to it so it doesn’t completely flop around if you use it like a dangly toy. My cats really like to use it as a kick toy, but also enjoy when I move it around for them. I think just one of them will last a long time, so 3 will definitely last a while. ... show more

    • Awful Chemical Smell, No!
These are silly fabric toys that came sealed inside heavy shrink wrap. I cut open the bag and got such a strong chemical, mildew smell that I walked straight out to the trash can threw them away. They are supposed to have silver vine in them? I don't think so, but even if they did I would not let my cats be exposed to that chemical smell, let alone let them chew on them.
