Features

  • The anamorphic element group in the lens squeezes the horizontal field of view 1.33 times to produce the 2.4:1 aspect ratio. As the focal length shortened to 24mm, the angle of view also gets wider, rendering an expansive horizon.
  • One of the obvious changes for the 24mm lens is reducing the minimum focusing distance to 0.6m, therefore, you dont have to back away too much to focus the subject when shooting space is limited.
  • Not just for video use, this lens allows you to distinguish your photo from a standard 16:9 photo, with all the noticeable anamorphic elements including a spectacular 2.4:1 rectangular look, blue light streak, and oval bokeh.
  • The precision aluminum alloy enhances the strength of the lens housing. Assembling with the solid housing, the copper Aperture and Focus rings are designed with an anti-slip teeth surface for smooth, comfortable focus and light adjustment.
  • The high-class Schott glass lens elements with Nano-coating can suppress aberration and vignette, rendering excellent resolution and sharpness to a cinematic image.

  • Cinematic!
Size: X Mount
If you want to add some JJ Abrams to your budget conscious film you'll probably want this lens. The flares can be a little much if shooting in the dark but overall the lens is amazing. I'm getting a 5120X2160 image (unsqueezed) out of my standard 4K (3840x2160) Fuji XH1. These whacky x shaped flares might be due to my windshield having some defrosting elements embedded in the glass... will need to do more testing. ... show more

  • Excellent lens!
Size: E Mount
Got it today. I bought the RF-compatible mount for my EOS R10 and it is impeccable. While it is rather heavy, it is very fun to shoot with and has great cinematic qualities. I definitely prefer this over the 50mm lens (which in itself is also an awesome lens) due to the wider field of view. If you want an anamorphic lens, Sirui is certainly the best. ... show more

  • This is a fantastic Anamorphic lens. Probably the best 2nd focal length to pair with the 50mm.
Size: MFT Mount
Sirui knocked it out of the park with this series of lenses. I have the 24mm, 35mm, 50mm and 75mm. The 50mm gets lots of use with this 24mm a close second. The 35mm and 75mm are also fantastic, but they aren't as useful on MFT, for my needs. What I LOVE. The sharpness, color and character of this glass. There really is something special about anamorphic and these lenses give you that "X" factor at the lowest barrier to entry. Wide open = SHARP. Stopped down = EVEN SHARPER! Seriously, they are quite good, even if they were spherical glass. But, they are not spherical, they are anamorphic. This makes them even more amazing. Unless you spend crazy money for anamorphic, you will likely get some sort of (small or HUGE) add-on for another "taking lens". That means dual focus (You have to focus BOTH lenses, every time you need to adjust focus). It also usually means the image quality is compromised. Soft (especially corner sharpness), loss of contrast and color and usually difficulty keeping a level horizon, plus added aberrations and artifacts introduced with cobbled together components. It's also usually a very large and heavy setup. You also lose the ability to close focus, usually. That means you need additional optics to allow for a closer focus ability (diopters). This adds ADDITIONAL issues to the image quality, usually. plus It also adds significant costs. With the Sirui lenses and especially the 24mm, all of that is taken care of. They really did their homework on this series. There are better (and more expensive) anamorphic glass available today. The added cost does deliver superior results in many cases, but you will not find a better image quality for less. Not even close. If you spend less, you WILL get LESS. You may still want diopters if you need to focus closer than they allow natively (0.6m or less than 2ft for the 24mm). But I haven't found the need to do that. I just use a longer lens, when that's needed. Not the same thing, I'm aware, but it works for me. The flares are kinda neat, but not really my thing. If they happen, it's ok, but I certainly don't set out to try and trigger them. I know, I'm the minority here. The flares are blue and not overly exaggerated when the light source is in frame. The soft and diffused lens flares when the light source is out of the frame is especially pleasing, to my eye. Focus throw is supposedly 189 degrees. That's fairly long. Great for precise focus, but sometimes it's a long way to go when pulling focus by hand. We mostly use motors for this so no biggie for us. We purchased the MFT mounts and have successfully added a MFT to Sony E mount adapter to use these on our Sony bodies too. It's a very thin adapter, but with care, it's manageable. This was the main reason we went with MFT mount... greater flexibility. These lenses are all metal. They are also fairly heavy. But, compared to other anamorphic solutions and lenses, these are "lightweight". One issue it the inconsistent squeeze factor. Sometimes it 1.33x and sometimes 1.25x depending on the focus distance. This is not unique to this set. Many other anamorphics have this issue. You really need to keep that in mind when editing footage shot with this lens and others in the set. It's totally manageble, but worth mentioning. Seriously, we are loving this set. I wish we had waited for the Mars set since it solves a few of the issues these present. Focus and Iris gears already on board. Not only that, they are located in the very same location on all lenses in the set. Also, matching front filter threads and lens weights match throughout the set. That's really useful when moving quickly. No other adjustments when changing lenses, just swap and go. With these, we need to move the focus motor and matte box sometimes, along with the lens swap. Gimbal use... rebalance when swapping. Again, the Mars set addresses all of these, but at an additional cost. Overall this lens (and the overall set) have been fantastic and given us freedom in our creative vision. More tools in the box mean more choice in our deliverables. That's always a good thing! ... show more
