I am new to embroidery and thread, so bought this because of the reviews. I am surprised at how beautiful this turned out. Yes the thread did break a few times during stitching in the denser parts of the design. But I stitched out about 80.000 stitches and the spool still has a fair amount of thread on it. I love the color and the idea of this thread. However, my embroidery machine has a hard time using this thread without getting tangled. My sewing machine uses it ok for the most part. IT is a coarse thread which can be hard for it to feed, but if you keep good tension and watch it closely it works.

I wish I had read the other reviews before buying this thread. It is extremely thin. Even with the slowest setting on my machine, it kept twisting and knotting going from the spool to the machine. Ultimately that would cause breakage. I even tried using an external thread mount and babysitting it by watching for and unknotting the thread. With all the breakage, a job that should have taken 15 minutes took an hour, required my constant attention, and it looks awful. Everywhere the thread broke, there are gaps in the stitching. While it is very pretty, it's not worth the headache. I would just use yellow before using this thread again. ... show more

Used the gold & silver metallic thread on some mini ornaments all of which have over 6,000 stitches in the designs. Only issue I had was with a bobbin that wasn't properly wound. I had no breaks, no shredding or any other problems. Thread does a super job & is a super value to boot! Thread doesn't have that scratchy feel to it on the spool. I used the thread stand that came with my Babylock Solaris, a metallic needle & slowed speed to 700 stitches per minute. ... show more
