  • Arrived on time
My order arrived quickly and was exactly what I'd ordered. I was disappointed in the lack of a snap bottom on each spool. I love the colors and would have enjoyed a way to keep the threads from come off of the spool. There are lots of colors and shades, should have fun with this selection.

  • Great thread at a great price!
I purchased a Brother NQ1700E early in 2022 and was told at the sewing store to NOT use knockoff brands because they would not work with the machine. I have a Pfaff sewing machine that does not work with knockoff brands (I tried a few!), so I was planning to follow their advice. However, once I realized that I wanted to buy a full set of colors and how that would have been many hundreds of dollars with the name brand threads, I decided to try Simthread. I AM SO GLAD I DID! I have embroidered almost a million stitches on my machine, the majority using Simthread, and have not had a single issue. Cotton, towels, blankets, clothes, fleece, etc. No breakage or lint, no weird messages from my machine. I will continue buying Simthread in the future - great product and a fraction of the cost of the name brands. ... show more

  • The color selection is useful, beautiful
I was new to the hobby and bought this collection for my Brother PE800 2 years ago and I believe that Simthread has changed the packaging somewhat in the meantime. This brand was more variable than New Brothread when I bought it. Sometimes the thread would be wrapped the other direction on a spool, and it was more likely to come off the spool in a big mess. But the colors fill big gaps in the color palette. I like to stitch stuff from Urban Threads and Embroidery library, and they use a Madeira palette. What has happened is I got used to the Simthread spools and just got better at handling these slippery silky embroidery type threads in general. I will continue to buy this brand. And from reading comments from the manufacturer, some of the little gripes I had have been fixed, perhaps all of them. There is a learning curve on these embroidery machines. I can only speak for the Brother PE800, but if there is a lot of thread breakage going on, there is something not right with the machine setup (wrong needle, the thread is catching on the spool, there's a bobbin problem etc) because this thread is great. ... show more

  • Great colors for embroidery at a great price
I embroider a lot on a Pfaff Creative Vision 5.0. It can sew quite large and very nice pieces. Having a great selection of colors makes it easier to select and put together a beautiful embroidery piece. Some of the spools seem like the thread is a little thinner than others. Also notice that the thread is not always wound on the spool well. It will hang up as it is being pulled through the tensioners clear back at the spool causing it to jump when the spool releases the thread where it is apparently knotted or something. This can cause some issues so you have to keep a close eye on it while sewing. But overall I love Simthread product and use their thread almost exclusively as it is well priced and of decent quality. ... show more

  • Good embroidery Thread
Good embroidery thread. I've had some breakage, but not enough for me to not buy it again. Nice color assortment and value for the money.

  • Great color variety and good quality thread, but...
I have a Brother 550D embroidery machine and am enjoying making projects for my grandchildren. To get me started, I purchased a set of 40 spools of embroidery thread from Madam Sew that matches my Brother color numbering system. It was great but I needed more colors for some of the Disney projects. I then ordered the 63 spool Simthread set which filled in some of the missing colors. This set also had the Brother color numbering system although the colors are slightly different. But, as I expanded my designs and started purchasing embroidery patterns from other websites, I needed more colors. This caused a huge problem which ended up being quite a conundrum!! I started researching other options of threads and wow...there are tons of options! Some are pretty cool but are also pretty spendy. Since I had already started with the Brother numbering system, I really didn't want to have to start over with another brand but as I started exploring the NewBrothread and Simthread options, all of the available sets specifically for Brother gave me the same colors that I already had! And, I couldn't find an option to purchase just the colors that I needed. I finally discovered that the 120 spool set from Simthread actually contained different colors from their 63 count set at a very reasonable price ($76.99). It's a great set and I think I will be able to find whatever color I may need amongst the 120 spools. The only problem is that it has an entirely different numbering system (S001-S120) which doesn't correspond to the Brother numbering system. They do provide a color chart so you can try to compare colors from the pattern to the chart, but it is definitely not ideal. While it is a pain in the you-know-what, it is something I will live with due to the circumstances. Simthread...if you see this, please add a conversion chart!!! If there was one, I would definitely give you 5 stars!! ... show more

  • Gorgeous colors that sew SO well on my Brother machine. I'm thrilled!!
I am very picky about thread and am so happy with this purchase! I embroider on a Brother PE700ii and the machine works great as long as the thread quality is good. Otherwise, I deal with terrible nesting and tension issues. I ran a file with this new thread with 15 color changes and not one problem! I couldn't be more excited to find this huge color assortment and the thread is actually high quality!! There are 120 gorgeous, bright colors. Some are multi-color spools, which was a fun surprise. It arrived neatly packed in two big boxes and came with prewound bobbins and a baggie full of thread nets. Some, but not all, of the spools have slits on the large end for minding thread ends. I've always wondered why they didn't have this. (Since cones should be loaded to unwind from the narrow end, it shouldn't snag the thread during use.) All of the colors have a beautiful sheen. I took some photos and a video and will try tk include those. Now I'll be hunting for a thread rack big enough to organize this many colors. I'll never have to worry about finding the perfect thread color for a project again! If you're serious about embroidery, I'd absolutely recommend you grab this thread bundle. ... show more
