    • No leaking during practice with water

The main thing I look for in a spray bottle is that it not leak. Basic spray bottles at the hardware store are way overpriced for what you get; if you're paying 4 to 8 dollars for a plastic spray bottle that is not much different than the bottle you would get with a generic 5 dollar bottle of window cleaner or household degreaser, then that bottle should NOT be leaking fluid all over your hand as you're pulling on the trigger to spray something. That exact situation is something I've unfortunately experienced MORE than once. Even if your hand were gloved for protection, an expensive herbicide is not something you want dripping wastefully onto an unintended target (eg. off your hand & onto the ground). I don't even believe in herbicides or pesticides (I've lived at the same house for over 20 years and have never sprayed any poisons on my property), but unfortunately there are not many ways to get rid of a Tree of Heaven (one of the worst invasive species in North America) without using Triclopyr. This Simpexpe pump sprayer is way more fancy than a basic cheap spray bottle with a pump-trigger, and my hope was that it would also perform better than a spray bottle does. I am pleased to report that this sprayer has been working perfectly in my trials so far, just using plain water. The spray/stream gradient is easy to control with a small adjustment of the spraying nozzle. The pump builds up enough pressure to spray continuously for at least a couple of minutes without having to pump-up the pressure again; I will be spraying in short bursts, and in my tests of spraying in that manner I was surprised by how long I could use this thing without having to re-pump. More importantly than anything, my spraying hand remained completely dry, and there was no liquid escaping from anywhere on this bottle except for where it was spraying out of the nozzle. This pump sprayer is easy to use, and it does not appear to have any leaking problems, which in my book adds up to a solid 5 star rating. When using this bottle with Triclopyr I'll be sure to empty any unused product when I'm finished, add plain water to the bottle, and then run the sprayer clean (applying the watered-down remnants onto some of my sidewalk cracks). Any spray bottle you plan on reusing should NOT be stored with anything such as an herbicide inside of it, since most pumps will become clogged and could be completely ruined by the time you pull it out of storage and try to use it the following spring or summer. ... show more

Simpexpe handheld garden pump sprayer - Strong pressure sprayer. If you don't screw on the cap tight it will let you know once you start to pressurize it! Works and sprays well and can adjust it easy to stream or fan spray. The only thing I don't like is that the sliding trigger lock is too loose. When I hold the sprayer down toward the plant the lock slides closed and keeps the sprayer locked open. I've gotten used to keeping my thumb high up on the trigger to hold the sliding lock in place. But I think I will stick some duck tape on it! ... show more

This is a great little sprayer. Easy to use and spray. You pump the sprayer to build up pressure and then you can adjust nozzle. You can hold down trigger or lock it place for continuous spraying. I wish the reservoir was a little larger, but it's a great little sprayer and works very well.

The SIMPEXPE handheld garden pump worked beautifully. It was larger than I expected, but not heavy. This sprayer can carry a lot of liquid. Simple to use and easy to pump up. I filled ours with weed killer and sprayed down several patches of weeds growing through the stones in our driveway. You can adjust the spray nozzle for the amount that is dispensed. I left it almost on full flow to douse down those pesky weeds. Took a lot less time than the "one squeeze at a time" sprayer that the weed killer came in. Saved my hands from all that unnecessary exertion and strain. It can even be locked in the "on" spray position so you don't even have to keep holding down on the trigger. I'm very happy with the sprayer. If your hands are like mine, and don't work as well as they once used to, I think you will be happy with the sprayer also. ... show more

this pump is nice, has a big plastic can to the reservoir of it, big adjustable nozzle, works great, however, the plastic press down trigger to this, is made of some ver thin and flimsy plastic. when pressing down, the button wants to go to the side and gets caught on an edge of the grab handle, you have to focus and ensure youre pressing directly down and not at an angle, very annoying. made me deduct a star, otherwise not a bad pump, for yourself or a gift. great for a beginner getting things to start out and not want to spend a ton of money to do so, overall not bad and would recommend ... show more
