I used this to line my homemade mini forge and it exceeded my expectations in many ways. It cuts easily with a utility knife, and was simple to piece it into my forge with no adhesives required. It took only 7 minutes to reach max temperature, and the heat is more even throughout than with the lightweight firebrick. I purchased this as an insulator under the heated bed on my 3D printer. Does a great job at stabilizing the temperature swings and holds temps better. It's a bit fragile so I wrapped it in masking tape to keep it from shedding.
