These tongs are ok. The build quality is ok. I had to bend the tongs that the crucible sits in to fit my 1-kilo crucible. I also had to bend the tongs in to hold the crucible. The quality could be a little better but overall they work.

the lifting tongs work great much safer than what I was using before. fits on a 6 kilo crucible perfectly seems like it would do fine with a 4 kilo but some guy in his review said it didn't so take that with a grain of salt. they are made from some thick flat steel they're not heavy but it's not flimsy either the welds look fine and the pin in the middle looks fine. As for the pouring tongs I have no intention to use them I have a better set already and would not recommend using them unless you have to, make sure you have something to hold the crucible with when pouring. ... show more

This product says it is intended for a 4Kg Crucible, yet I also purchased a 4Kg crucible from amazon at the same time as this product, and this product was too large for the crucible. I had to return it. Hopefully this review saves you some time and effort.
