I have no regrets purchasing this, so I think it will come in handy in a variety of situations when we travel. I would caution to not assume that you can get a connection if you’re in a very desolate area. I work in a hybrid environment and that 1 day a week without an effective WIFI is a Nightmare. Now that I have my Portable, International, pay as you go excellent connection. I connect my laptop, iPad and even my cell. It allows up to 6 devices and some days, I share with a co-worker. It fits in my purse and can be concealed very well.     • Why should I pay $10 per GB????
I really like the unit, but I ordered it with 100 GB which is $1 per GB and sort of justifies the $100 price increase. That is still $20 more per GB than you pay when you reload. They changed the description in the middle of my transaction, so I only received 10 GB. This is going back! I HATE being ripped off! ... show more

I absolutely love the Solis hotspots. I have one of the original hotspots and bought a second Solis lite hotspot to have as a spare and because I often travel for work, so one is at always at home. We have used our hotspot all over Costa Rica many times and it worked without fail! We recently had our internet down for an entire day due to a local fire - Solis to the rescue!!! ... show more

    • Easy-to-use hotspot, but quality is less than desirable
I bought the SIMO Solis Lite hotspot in December 2022 as my wife and I had plans to travel to Mexico multiple times in 2023. We thought we could use the hotspot for work and personal use while we traveled. When we got to our destination in northern Mexico, the hotspot was easy to set up. The app is pretty intuitive. I was able to buy day passes and activate them as needed. The internet speeds and signal strength weren't the best, but I recognize that's probably more on the cell carriers than SIMO. While we learned using it for work wasn't in the cards for us, we thought we could still use the hotspot for personal use. My wife went to Mexico a second time, but this time the hotspot wasn't working. We weren't sure why. We charged it using the cables that came with the device, but it wouldn't turn on besides a quick flash and vibration. I even followed the process to reset the device, but that didn't resolve the issue. I sent a service request to SIMO, which is where my main grip is. After their first-level support verified the issue via a video, they told me my case "has been escalated to the upper support department." Since that time 3 weeks ago, they have been almost entirely unresponsive. I continue to reach out, but only hear that my case has been escalated to the "replacement department". They end their reply with "As soon as we have any information regarding your replacement, I will let you know via email.", but they never get back to me. In fact, they haven't even replied to my last email request from 3 days ago. I was excited to use this hotspot on my trips, but this experience has soured me to SIMO.
