Description

The NXT allows you to mount the basketball goal to a wall outdoors or indoors – perfect for garages, barns, schools, camps, gyms, and more. Including the backboard, rim, nylon net, and wall mount, this basketball hoop comes partially assembled with attached hardware allowing you to assemble your goal in 120 minutes or less. Mounting hardware is not included. The 54" W x 33" H Infinity Edge backboard has edges that wrap around to the back of the backboard as one continuous material for increased rigidity. The spring- activated rim flexes under pressure, similar to professional-style rims. The pro-style breakaway rim also protects the backboard and prevents player injuries. Using an all-steel crank actuator, the basketball hoop is adjusted from the NBA and NCAA regulation rim height of 10 feet to the safety-approved 7.5 feet. I was apprehensive about finding an affordable good quality hoop and backboard that would attach to my carport and offer both sturdiness and height adjustability. Yesterday I finished the installation and it is absolutely perfect. I seldom write reviews but feel compelled to share my satisfaction when a product is actually better than anticipated. Since the unit is so new I can't vouch for its longevity but I am a 70 year old handyman and I have seen a lot of poor equipment being falsely advertised as "quality." So what makes it so good? The steel is thick and extra stable. The nuts and bolts go together easily and stay together with the locknuts threading beautifully. The rim is incredibly sturdy. And the fit and finish is superb at this price level. I guess you can tell that I am a very satisfied customer who is often quite critical (just ask the Mrs.:-)) So far I believe this hoop will be a winner with my 5 kids and 5 grandkids. It adjusts smoothly to different heights. If there is one thing I predict could be a problem it will likely be the shiny plexi surface which will probably look pretty bad by the end of the summer due to scuffing. So not perfect but still a definite 5 star. Did I say it was also beautiful? and did I say the installation manual was about the best I have ever seen with any product? Kudos to the company who put the time, effort and expense into this feature which makes installation a doable thing for many. ... show more

Basketball hoop is awesome. Nice and sturdy and high quality construction. Needs a good dimensional drawing for the installation showing dimensions in the up/down position, etc. The instructions are total garbage. Give your customer's a drawing so they don't have to figure everything out. Hope these install photos/dimensions help someone out! This mounting setup allows for a 7.5-10ft hoop height. ... show more

Bought this beauty during the summer. It just got top hot running to the park. The hoop is sturdy and made with quality materials. I mounted mine to concrete. Hoop includes everything except anchoring/mounting screws. Spoke to the company as to why it's not include and they basically said due to liability issues, they can't legally tell you how or where to mount it. Bit with some concrete anchoring screws it works just fine. It is adjustable up to 10ft so whether it's you or your kid or even the neigh or, it can accommodate all sizes. You can install solo but putting up the hoop itself, I suggest getting someone to help as holding the hoop while installing makes the process go faster. Took about 3.5hrs and a quick run to the hardware store. Hope this helps. ... show more

My 16 year old son and I mounted this hoop on our garage. It seems like a very good hoop/backboard for the price and it looks much nicer than some of the other affordable options. It took a fair amount of time to take all the necessary measurements on the inside and outside of the garage wall. We had to mount a few 2x6"s inside the garage attic to reinforce the wall studs. It was definitely necessary to have one person inside the attic and one outside as we drilled the holes and attached the bracket. As they say "measure twice, cut once", but in this case it was measure 17 times and drill once. After we got the wall mount bracket installed, the rest was very easy. The backboard and rim assembly was very straight forward. As others mentioned, you have to buy bolts with washers and nuts to mount the bracket on your wall. The holes are drilled for 5/16" bolts, but I drilled them out to fit 3/8" bolts for added strength. There are 8 total pre-drilled holes, but I only used 4 total bolts and it is very secure on the wall. The bolt length will vary based upon your particular situation. It took us 2 half-days to do the job, but you could do it in a full day. ... show more

I like this product. It was easy to install with one exception I note below. The directions were clear and easy to follow and laid out in a way that even my ADD, can't follow plainly obvious instructions somehow could follow just fine. :) Packaging: Excellent. I do recommend opening it up where you want to work. Once you get those straps off, you aren't moving it again without pulling everything out. Bear in mind you may find you need to do structural work after taking the mounting plate and visualizing where it is going to go and where the holes will go. So don't put it in your drive way or in a parking spot because it might be there for a while until you get the structural work done. Installation: I had to do a fair amount of structural work to mount it on my garage where I wanted it but that is in no way a slight on this product. Once I got the structural work done it installed fairly easily adhering to the instructions and feels very sturdy. It isn't going to fall down. I had real problems putting the backboard up. I was able to do this by myself very easily even though the instructions say it requires two people, but the studs on the lower arm were not aligned correctly to the holes in the backboard so I had to ream the holes in the backboard in order to get it on. I do not expect to have to modify a product in order to use it out of the box and per the instructions. This is a legitimate quality control and process problem with this product. Use After Installation: Once installed the backboard does wobble a little bit but It's solid enough. The crank shaft to raise and lower the hoop is extremely short. I mounted the hoop at the exact height suggested in the instructions and the hoop measures to be at regulation height once raised the entire way. I'm a 6ft tall guy and I have to have my arms high above my head in order to raise and lower this hoop. Given this is almost always for children and not professional basket ball players that are freakishly tall, the crank is unacceptably short. Summary All in all I like this product. My dislikes are (to summarize from above) 1. Studs on lower arm don't align with holes in backboard require reaming the backboard 2. Crank is very short. Only taller people can use it. ... show more
