Very impressed with the quality of the material used for this Basketball hoop. Boxes were delivered (3 separate boxes) Instructions are clear and easy to follow. Please note that you will need to dig a four foot hole and fill it with 9-10 concrete bags. Lots of videos on Youtube to help you understand what you are doing. Remember to install the backboard to the pole before setting it on the concrete footing. The instructions don't tell you this but everyone online advises to do it and it made it much easier. I researched all set ups before buying this one, they make a basic one for $499, then a mid class one for $799 but all reviews complained about shaking and poor quality. In the words of my 11 year old: "It's amazing!" We just got this at Amazon, it arrived quickly (through one of their sellers) and was in perfect condition. The install is similar to what everyone described here - my husband did it over the course of a week or so due to our schedules. Because we had read the reviews here, he bought more concrete than the instruction called for - about 10 bags which worked perfectly. The system's been up for about 1 week and is great - very little shake, plays like a professional system. We have an 11 year old son and 10 year old daughter who both love to play and this system is great, expect it will grow with them through the years. My husband's been shooting on it too and has commented on how awesome it is! We had a Lifetime portable system that was 15+ years old - so shaky (and loud when they shot!) and in hindsight should have been replaced long ago. This new net is sturdy and expect it will remain that way for years. Great price on Amazon - consistent or lower than the big box stores. I took a while to decide what to get and where because I couldn't "see" it and see how sturdy it was so didn't want to spend that kind of money if not sturdy. If you're thinking of buying, go see in the store, if necessary and buy here - the store display isn't that great so you really can't get a feel for truly how sturdy it will be when setup until you actually see one that is installed properly in the ground. So far we have absolutely loved this hoop, before even playing in it I was wry impressed right away with the quality and how heavy duty it is. Installation was easy with great instructions. Digging the hole and pouring the concrete is the hardest part but renting an electric cement mixer made quick work of it. Giving it 4 stars because it does shake a little more than I had hoped but really doesn’t hinder the shots so I think I’ll get used to it quickly . Overall it’s a great hoop I’m glad I went with this hoop over a cheaper one , this will last a very long time . ... show more

No comparison to a stand up driveway unit filled with water or sand. Plays like a gym system. I was concerned about the "wobbling" reviews. I took my time and set the anchors in about 50 inches of concrete. If you brick a shot, or use the backboard heavily, it does shake for a few seconds. Nothing that concerns me. The backboard is very heavy. A few OSHA laws may or may not have been broken hanging it up. Something about a ladder in the back of a pickup truck. The goal is made of very sturdy construction and is great for my driveway. This would be a good fit for a home court of any size. I also like that the main pole is one piece, which makes it stronger. I found that many competitors offered structural poles that were 2 pieces. Assembly was very straightforward and instructions were easy to follow. I was able to assemble and erect it with the help of two friends (three of us total). I recommend using a pickup truck bed to stand in while mounting the backboard. It's fairly heavy and requires that 2-3 people hold it while one person installs the bolts. It would've been very difficult to do off of ladders. There was one dent on the 5" pole that occurred during shipping (no fault of the seller). Informed the seller of the issue and they immediately sent me a pole pad to cover the dent and help prevent rust. I like that the anchor bolt system will allow me to uninstall the goal and take it with me if I ever move houses. Overall I am extremely pleased with the purchase and the seller. ... show more

The product is good but the seller (Amazon in this case) is horrible! The first shipment arrived damaged 4 weeks later. The 2nd shipment seemed like a used or a previously returned item. There were scratches on the pole and no protective sheet on the glass backboard. A missing pole cap was requested from the manufacturer (Escalade Sports who is wonderful). Amazon customer service lacked a good customer service. They offered us $50 discount for selling us a used item!! My advice is: buy this item through other sellers & avoid Amazon. ... show more

This is the best Basketball Rim by far on the market. The rim is very sturdy and it has my entire family playing on it here on St.Croix US Virgin Islands . Installation was a breeze even though it took me a few days to dig the 48 inch hole. I dug a foot each day and throw some water in hole after each dig to soften soil for the next digging. There is no rattle after the ball hits the rim and the backboard is as firm as it gets. I am into building so I added extra steel, sand and gravel to my cement to create a stronger base. The price is well worth i just wish it came with the padding for the pole but its good product for the price regardless. Repeat, Its the best and its worth getting it for the family. ... show more
