These chairs are solid, comfy (firm), and very pretty. 4 stars instead of 5 because one of them had some mold growing under the seat as other reviews said. I decided to spray with Lysol, which seemed to do the trick, and keep them.

Sturdy and easy to put together. Read instructions and do not force anything, chair is designed to be durable so you have line everything up properly. I assisted my husband and he does not like to use directions.

There are spores or possible mold growing on the wood part of the seat. The box was not damaged or looked like it got wet so I don't know why mold would be growing. I have other Ashley products and nothing like this has happened before.

I've been looking for a set of 2 chairs to complement the table in a small alcove in my kitchen area. I didn't want the "traditional" dining room chair and these hit the mark. The fabric seems durable, the back is high and sturdy. They seem wider than average which is good for my tall family. My only complaint is that they are a bit stiff, but I am hoping that they will become more comfy as we "break" them in. Love the neutral color and texture of the fabric! Delivery on the chairs was quick! The chairs DO need assembly and the delivery box is heavy! Both chairs and all parts and pieces are in the 1 box. The items were packaged perfectly to eliminate any damage. Lots of Styrofoam! Assembly stated needing 2 people however I did the assembly myself without any additional people. The chairs are wonderful and work great with the Sommerford Dining table I purchased. I am very pleased with the overall quality. The only problem I am having is removing the numbers stickers from the wood legs that were applied for the assembly instructions.
