I am actually really happy that I took a chance on the table considering the bad reviews. I had a very positive experience. It arrived safely and when I opened it, everything was there. I checked the table top itself to make sure there were no scratches or gouges and it was in great shape. There were some minor scratches to the underside of the melamine on the tabletop, but they were not in places that could be seen or might possibly spread and cause damage to the top of the table in the future. It was incredibly easy to assemble by myself. All hardware was there and fit every hole. (Definitely wait to tighten the legs and the bottom until you have all screws inserted, you'll save frustration and time). Once assembled, we flipped it and found it to be very sturdy and not wobbly in the least. Two things: at first I thought the tabletop was damaged because the pattern makes it look that way, I compared it to pics online to make sure, and it's definitely part of the surface, not scratches. Also, the description is not accurate about the legs, they are definitely wood, not metal, so if you are looking for metal and don't want wood - make note. This so far has been a great dining table for my new home. The top of the table is a great grey color with a wood look; quite sturdy with a good weight to it. The table arrived quickly and was very easy to put together with the provided tools. I reduced a star because the legs are in fact wood, not metal as described. The product says base is metal. It is NOT, it's wood so don't know how amazon is allowed to keep advertising this table as having a medal base when it clearly is not. Isn't that false advertising??. I really would have preferred metal. Pay close attention now to what amazon is selling because what they advertise is NOT always what you get. Only read one reviewer that said the base was wood and no one else mentioned so figured it was a one off. NOPE. The table itself is beautiful and very sturdy and easy to assemble but use a power drill it goes faster. Had a little trouble with the screws not fitting but drilled them in sideways and it did the trick. It arrived on the day it was suppose to and boxed extremely well with no damage anywhere.
