Comfortable padding, nice cushioning in the lumbar region, smooth rocker motion. This is the same recliner that's on the Ashley Furniture website with a two to three month delivery date. I bought the plug-in power version with push-buttons on the side (no remote.) You can also buy a rechargeable recliner battery from Amazon for power outages or if you want to go cordless. For a 5'4" person the fully raised footrest edge is against your heel. The color is a rich dark chocolate and it arrived undamaged. Having the recliner packaged as two sections is so valuable for second floor deliveries with narrow staircases. I was worried about the room's doorway being only 29-1/2" wide and I removed the door; the seat half of the chair just made it thru by turning it on its side. There's a very noticeable new chair odor that's a bit overwhelming in a small room - some of it is from the foam and I think also from the wood treatment used by furniture factories in Vietnam. ... show more

Overall, not a bad piece of furniture. But, perhaps it’s just me, however the lines of stitching on the arms have proven to be very uncomfortable on my elbows, as they are positioned perfectly to interfere with where my arms naturally rest. The stitching looks very good, but unfortunately makes for a very pronounced ridge. I’ll likely either come up with some covering, or I’ll have to replace the chair. Comfortable, roomy, well made. At 65, I will die in this chair--it will last that long. Strange that someone wrote that it is too small. At 5 11 and 155 pounds, it seems too big. But each of us have needs. Month later, it is me and Teagan's (my puppy) place to be.
