I previously reviewed a more expensive floor lamp I had ordered in the hope of having both a mood light and a reading light. It proved to fulfill only one of those two roles and was both over-priced and not very stable on its base. So this is attempt #2, and I think a good deal better than the previous one. The multi-temperature lighting allows for versatility, but the highest temperature (coldest looking) light is almost a light blue, and while different is not what I want for reading. And the lowest temperature (warmest looking) is almost yellow. Both are better for some kind of mood lighting. My favorite is one down from blue. And this comes with a very nice little remote that can control each light individually, or if you press the center "M" button you can control all three at the same time. Allows for a great deal of versatility, however I think most people would like the lights to have a similar look. But the ability to vary the intensity of each light independently could prove useful. The main 3/4" wide shaft comes in three pieces and each first has a small plug for the electrical and then screws into the next section. I found the top one difficult to push the wire in and then be able to screw the two sections together. The next joint down was far easier as the wires moved in and out pretty easily. All told the light stands 67 7/8" and is a nice size. The actual lights themselves have a 4 3/4" face, and those were the only negative for me. They cover the bulb, and cast a very even light pattern, but I just find them kind of cheap looking and not all that attractive. The rest of the light I like, but those not so much. Due to the height, even the solid and substantial 9 3/4" diameter base does not remain completely stable when you bump the lamp. It isn't bad, especially for a multi-section lamp like this, but not like the really solid floor lamps I grew up with. Much better than the previous one I reviewed, however. This is an attractive floor lamp and the remote is really good. In addition you are provided with on-off touch control for each of the three lights on the main column at a height that will not require bending or searching for an on-off button on the electrical cord. The electrical cord when fully stretched allows the lamp to be 6' from the outlet, and since code requires an outlet every 12' that means the lamp should be able to be located virtually anywhere along a wall. Good lamp that some might give five stars to. I think it is a bit less than that, but still nice. ... show more

First, what I don't like: It has a large AC adapter instead of a plain power cord. I don't like large adapters because they take up 2 plugs. I also don't like the way the wires connect. During assembly, you plug in the connector then twist it about 10 turns to screw in the top, which puts a lot of stress on the wires. At the bottom, the cord plugs into the AC adapter, and can get unplugged easily. Also, I don't care for the diffusers/shades on the sconces, they're plastic and a little cheap looking. Those are my only complaints, and they are fairly minor. There is lots to like about this. It comes with a remote, which is good, but we have way too many remotes already in the living room. Plus remotes tend get lost under the sofa, and require batteries (2 AAA, not included). But I do like remotes more than apps. Most of my lighting works with Smart Life app, and in reality you could probably get 3 smart bulbs and give any floor lamp this kind of functionality. But I don't like being so app dependent. I love the controls on the light itself. They are touch controls, and cycle through the 4 light temperatures (from warm to cool) then off. To access most of the neat features, or simply to adjust the brightness, you must use the remote. There are 10 levels of brightness, from 10% to 100%. The manual is incorrect in a couple spots. It confuses sleep mode with reading mode. Sleep mode means it turns off after 1 hour. Night lamp mode is very dim light (10%). And reading mode is brighter than night lamp mode. Also they call it a memory mode, but it's not. It doesn't remember your favorite setting. Instead it just restores to 4000k (the middle temperature) at 50%. The weight is fairly central, so even though the base is small, it's sturdy. The lights themselves are a full 360 adjustable. I'm not a huge fan of LED lights, I prefer halogen or incandescent.
