  • Lightweight, comfortable, and allow you to hear surrounding sounds while listening to music.
Size: Standard Size+Magnetic Charging Color: Black
Shokz Open Run bone-conducting headphones are lightweight, comfortable, and secure, allowing users to hear surrounding sounds while listening to music. The Open Run Pro model offers improved sound quality with enhanced bass and higher volume. I have several brands of ear buds all of which go into or cover my ears and headphones which cover and set on top of the ears. I was looking for something that did not go inside or cover my ears yet would give me a good sound and was a comfortable secure fit. In my search for headphones, I began with the Open Run model. These headphones are lightweight, comfortable to wear all day, and fit securely. Unlike my previous ear buds, they remain in place without constant adjustment, and unlike my over-the-ear headphones, they do not cover my ears. Their small size makes them easy to pack or carry during trips or errands. The bone-conducting sound design allows me to hear all surrounding sounds, such as traffic, TV, children, and people around me, while still listening to my music. This can be advantageous or disadvantageous depending on my preferences. While the Open Run model’s sound quality was acceptable, I desired more bass and higher sound volume if these were to become my preferred headphones. I was particularly impressed by the fit, quality, and other aspects of the Open Run model, so I returned it and ordered the Open Run Pro model. The Open Run Pro model offers improved sound quality with enhanced bass and higher sound volume. Like the Open Run model, it fits well and is comfortable to wear for extended periods. Strategies for Mitigating Surrounding Sounds: In previous iterations of the Open Run Shozk, earplugs were included as a default accessory. While this may seem counterintuitive to the principles of open hearing and bone conduction technology, I have discovered that in situations where external sounds are undesirable, using earplugs with the Shozk headphones can be highly effective in providing a degree of sound isolation. ... show more

  • Better than earbuds in the right circumstances
Size: Standard Size+Magnetic Charging Color: Black
I wear these everyday at work listening to audiobooks. The battery lasts my 10 hour shift even after two years of daily use. They work with foam earplugs too, in fact I usually turn the volume down with earplugs. Music is good but with this type of headphones sound quality isn't perfect. Podcasts and audiobooks sound great. I suggested these headphones to someone with hearing aids and these headphones can work really well with hearing aids (and without them), at least in this person's specific circumstances. Now they can listen to a podcast on headphones and at the same time hear what is happening around them with hearing aids without the hearing aids picking up the audio. ... show more

  • Excellent Headphones for Active Lifestyles
Size: Standard Size+Magnetic Charging Color: Black
I couldn’t be happier with the Shokz OpenRun headphones! These are, hands down, the best headphones I’ve used for workouts and daily activities. Sound Quality: The bone conduction technology delivers crisp, clear audio without blocking your ears, so you can stay aware of your surroundings—a huge plus for running or biking. Comfort: The fit is incredibly comfortable, even during long sessions. They’re lightweight and stay securely in place, which is exactly what I need during intense workouts. Ease of Use: The controls are simple and intuitive. Pairing was a breeze, and I appreciate not having to fumble with complicated buttons while on the go. Affordability: For the quality and features, these headphones are a fantastic value. Honestly, I haven’t experienced any downsides yet. They’re durable, sweat-resistant, and perfectly suited for an active lifestyle. If you’re considering a pair of bone conduction headphones, I highly recommend the Shokz OpenRun. ... show more

  • The Goldilocks of Shokz: mini Shokz OpenRun USBc
Size: Mini Size+USB-C Charging Color: Black
I have owned two previous pairs of Shokz and have enjoyed them both; An OpenRun I think with the magnetic charging and one before that with microUSB. They both got old and the plastic covering the speaker part wore through and made rattling noises but were still functional. When I thought about replacing the OpenRuns I tried to decide if I would like to choose another OpenRun magnetic or go to a more basic model with USBc, because I really didn't like being limited to proprietary charging. Then I saw they came out with OpenRun USBc ... hurray!! I much prefer the universal USBc charging even though it is a bit less waterproof and the door over the port looks a bit flimsy. Great job Shokz!! I also disliked the size of the loop as it stuck out from my head against sofa backs, etc. I have a biggish head but the mini fits perfectly well and is comfortable against a sofa, bed, or with a ski cap on. I would suggest try the mini if you can. For those new to Shokz, be aware that you will not have the deep rich sound of a high quality over ear headphones. But the sound is perfectly good for podcasts and most music if you are not too critical and that is not really the purpose of these headphones anyway. Bluetooth connectivity is good and the controls are simple and sufficient. The charging is fast and lasts several hours in use. Goldilocks or Baby Bear would be pleased. ... show more

  • They're good, but not great
Size: Mini Size+Magnetic Charging Color: Black
I've had these for about two months now, and I like them, but there are a few problems. Pros: They are very lightweight; They charge quickly; They sound okay and have a good microphone. Also, they are sturdy. Cons: The Bluetooth connections drop frequently. Cars passing and a strong breeze will cause the headphones to drop every second or third word. Annoying when listening to an audiobook. And the battery life is not near what they claim. The one day I used them for a longer trip (more than the usual two hours) they gave up after four and that was with a full charge. I did get them on sale, so I guess that they are a good value, and I did not buy them thinking that I would get superior sound from them. I guess I was hoping that they would be better. ... show more
