I own several of Shimanos DC reels and don't have a single complaint about any of them. Excellent reels, typical Shimano reliability and finish. My issue is with the distributor. I'll caution you to be careful when ordering from them. Or rather pass entirely when it comes to these guys. I ordered the Curado 150 7.4.1 And they sent me the 151 (lefty) with the wrong reel ratio. The box had also been previously opened and it was obvious to see the reel had been used or previously sent back. At $275 out the door with tax...this should definitely not be an issue. Can't go wrong with Shimano but stay away from this shady distributor. Amazon's customer service was amazing as usual. Even with it being a third party they issued a direct return and refunded the money when the reel made it back. Thanks Amazon! ... show more

    • Disappointed
Always been a big fan of Shimano. Got half a dozen different curados and have been very happy with them. Decided to get the DC spooled it up with some 20lb PowerPro and went out in the yard to get it dialed in. It just didn’t seem to cast very well. Didn’t seem to get the distance I was hoping for. I could hear the distinct sound from the DC but I still had to use as much thumb pressure as I would with any other bait caster. After probably 20 minutes of trying to get it dialed in it felt like a bearing went out. The spool locked up mid cast. Now when it’s free spooling it has a it has a rough feeling when the spool rotates. Maybe I just got a lemon but this one is going back and probably gonna be replaced with a Lews. ... show more

I own 2 of these reels so decided to purchase a third one from amazon. Not sure what happened, but when I received the reel, I opened the box to find a different, lesser expensive, used reel in the sealed box. I was shocked because I opened the sealed box and immediately knew there was a problem. Don’t know how this mix up occurred, but it is very disappointing and return process initiated. ... show more

Terrible quality. Stopped working on second use! Returning. Shimano quality has failed since moving to Malaysia. 30 year shimano fisherman looking for a better quality company now. Very disappointed!

    • Cover falls off!
I really love this reel! Had to give it a ding in the star rating though. The spool cover comes off so easily! thought that I lost it once, but it dropped at the edge of the pond, so I found it. Used a spot of glue to keep the cover on, really don't think that I should have to do that on a quality reel + for what I paid. On the good side..... Boy, this reel can cast far! and accurate!! I have several Lews. But this Curado is my preferred reel!! ... show more

    • Amazing Real, but the seller?
When your buying a Curado you already know what your getting, an amazing real with DC technology that works flawlessly! However the seller claimed it as new, but the box had already been opened, and poorly repacked. Shimano places a security seal on their boxes for a reason, so the buyer knows it is new from the factory and has never been tampered with. I had to return mine.. security was broken. ... show more
