This is not suitable for betas. The water pressure from the pump is too strong and they don't live well in currents. Also, in order for the light to come on, the filter also must be on. As you can see I have everything turned off for him so he is happy. I had to run a heater through the feeder opening on too as there is no where else to add one. Does not come with a plant. Comes with small bag of red gravel which was not pretty so used my own rocks and plants. For what I paid, I'm disappointed. ... show more

I would give this a 5 star but the planter thing for the plant is a bit confusing and small, other than that i love it, it sound great "no noise" , the lights are wonderful, not overly big, yet not too small.. once again overall i would say great tank.

    • Returning Item - completely dissapointed
This is not worth what you pay. The current is so strong that fish can hardly swim in it, especially a Betta with their heavy fins. The filter system doesn't pull any more solid waste through it. It just settles on the bottom. There are better aquariums out there for less. Had to put a heater through the feeding hole since there's no place to put the cord. One reviewer said that the lights cannot be off without the pump being off, this is NOT true. You can turn the lights off and still leave the pump on. Still do not recommend this ... show more

The auction power is too strong for a beta fish. It actually sucked my beta into the filter column.
