We like it better b/c the numbers are larger (1.8") and you can make them dimmer or brighter, and the top swivels on the base about 90 deg. We did not want a clock radio or an automatic clock. We did not want a clock you need an app to operate or a clock that you need to charge. We just want a clock to see the time of night or day. Battery-operated wall clocks were driving me crazy. Falling behind just enough to make me arrive late because I didn't realize I was failing at time management. An electric clock that I can see at a glance - right in front of my during the "getting ready to leave the house" period. Yes, the cell phone is always accurate, but checking the time requires my glasses and pushing a button. This was a fantastic alarm clock, exactly what I was looking for. I loved it while it worked. But only lasted 2 years and a few months. That seems like a very short life, even for a cheap alarm clock. I liked it so much, I considered getting another one, short life and everything. But it seems wasteful, more than I can in good conscience do. So I will be looking for a different one that will hopefully last longer. ... show more
