I’ve been in need of a quality air purifier for some time. And I found it in the Shark HE601. Ive been using Shark vacuum cleaners for years now, and I’ve been pleased with them, so when I discovered Shark is building air purifiers, I knew it would be a quality product. I’m asthmatic, and I’m always looking at ways to remove anything that can trigger an attack. I put the highest rated filter in my air conditioner/furnace I can get as well as cleaning and dusting. So, a quality air purifier is a must. I bought two of these air purifiers. One for my bedroom and another for the living room. Each room being on opposite sides of the house. First, set up is easy. From unboxing to running was 5-10 minutes. Second. They work! As it turned out, my timing for testing these couldn’t have been better. There’s a big fire 100 miles from here and the whole valley I live in is full of smoke from that fire. I turned the units on, and each indicated an air quality of 90% clean. I turned fan speed to 3 (Best for allergies) and within an hour each unit indicated air quality of 100%. I then set the unit to auto. It allows for the unit to adjust as needed for continuous monitoring and cleaning, if needed. The air quality hasn’t dropped below 99% clean inside my home. And I can tell the difference. My eyes are not burning like they were before. And no sneezing. I haven’t sneezed once inside my home after getting these. Plus, they’re quite. On fan setting 1 I can’t hear it unless I’m close to it, and nothing is making noise such as a TV. At 4 it’s no louder than a fan one might use inside their home. Speaking of fans, This unit has 6. They pull air from the backside of the unit through the filtration, and out the sides. Hence the reason the unit is not against the wall and sides must be clear. The filter is easily changed and should last 4400 hours. The unit counts down the filter life. I haven’t been able to locate new filters yet, but, it’s a Shark. I suspect they will become available before I need a replacement filter as Sharks is a pretty reputable company. I suspect lack of availability has to do with the short time this model has been on the market. This unit is controlled by the instrument panel located on top of the unit or a remote control only. It does not connect to the internet via WiFi. No app to use. Though that might be nice, it wasn’t a requirement for me. All in all, a great air Purifier. I doubt you’ll be disappointed. Nice and easy controls on top of the unit and with the remote. Does a good job helping to purify the air with little noise. Does a great job cleaning the air especially after cooking in the kitchen. The display is very helpful and informative. Easy to clean and pick up and move around. My wife has noticed a decrease in her asthma and allergies since we've set this up in our bedroom. She also enjoys the subtle breeze it gives off and the option to turn off the display lights. Overall, very happy with this purchase. ... show more

I've noticed a lot of reviews here saying the air quality monitor is always at 100%. And is a joke.. Mine was too... At first. Im gonna share my theory on that and you can make your own decision. I think most of the time this thing is working and maybe some rogue particles will go through it so fast it doesn't register. But if you do something really dirty you'll see it change. And it will take a while before it cleans the air in your place. I live in a 2 bed 2 bath 1027 sq ft apartment. I placed mine in the center of my place which is the living room by the automatic litter box. It stays at 100% but anytime I handle litter it drops down to 90-95% and takes some time to clean. I'm so glad it's taking care of that before it spreads throughout my home. Also cooking will cause it to drop drastically too so feel free to go nuts with the onions and curry lol. But if you really want some results and I mean really want to put it to the test. Do some cleaning. Deep cleaning not just surface. Dust your corners and every crevice and you'll see this thing hanging around 84-86% for awhile. I just finished an hour of dusting and cleaning and you can see in my photo the result. ( It's actually dropping lower to 82% as I type this ) So overall I'm going to recommend it. It does what it has to do and looks sleek and stylish at the same time. final note: if you really want to test it and don't feel like dusting right now blow a blast of smoke from a cigar or cigarette into it and watch it go into panic mode LOL. Bought this to get through SoCal wildfires. Works great. Filter seems to be on a clock for 4400 hours, so you may want to get a spare. I really like this unit. I’m thinking of getting two more.
