Our old grinder finally broke, and after a disappointing performance from the Kitchen Aid grinder I bought initially to replace it (loud, only ground half the beans somehow, clunky), I ordered this one. Wow. Two big *removable* bowls for wet and dry grinding, quieter than most, different settings for fineness, you press a button once versus holding it down, etc.. Filling the dry cup 3/4ths of the way with beans and setting it to 20 seconds yielded the perfect even grind for our 12 cup Moccamaster. If you need a coffee or spice grinder, buy this one! I purchased this item due to it's design, ability to remove and wash cup and grind selection; however, when I was grinding walnuts on the coarsest selection, which is a pulse, it almost immediately ground the walnuts halves to a fine grind. I usually use a coffee grinder for flax seeds and spices and use a food processor for nuts. If I used a coffee grinder for coffee beans, I wouldn't use this one as it almost immediately fine-ground the walnuts on the coarsest setting. ... show more

I was looking a new and better coffee grinder than my old B&D thumb operated one I"ve had for years. Not that there was anything awful about it, but I thought there's a superior way of grinding it. I read other reviews and gave this one a try and so so far I've very please. The ability to have a one touch preset timer for the grind takes the guess work out of it. After doing research on the best grind for my needs, I was way overdoing it so the timer helps. It has a pretty good size capacity to hold and grind beans. It's hard to imagine how one would need to fill the whole chamber. It has a large see through top to watch the grind happen. The stainless steel cup can be removed to clean by hand. I believe it can dishwasher safe as long as it's not submerged in water. It's fairly quiet for a grinder which is nice. I would suggest anyone buying should remember since it's new, the blades will be sharper than the one you're replacing so grinding times should be set shorter than you think until you get the fineness you want. If it's like me, it takes a round or two but the coffee seems to taste better now. ... show more

This coffee grinder is so easy to use and clean! Just measure your beans and press the button. I use a coarser grind for my French press and it is perfect every time. It is easy to remove the grinding chamber for cleaning with the included brush. So far, I am very pleased with this grinder.
