I thought about rigging up a homemade one of these but decided that spending the money was a better use of my time. It works and now I can easily use a collection of cone spools that were given to me.

Just wanted you to know that the base is very lightweight. I didn’t read that when I ordered it. Assumed (on me) that it was cast iron like my last one. :) love that it’s telescopic.

I couldn’t fit a cone of thread on my machine without having this stand.

Maybe it is the way I am using the cone style thread...the cone moves around too much in the grooved circle. I have tried raising the bar and even tried lowering the bar, adjusting didn't help. Other than this the spool holder does work.

It has a heavy enough base to not tip over.
Was easy to put together. Great having the adjustable height. Is nice & stable to not tip or move around. I can easily fold up to take with me to classes or retreats.

This one works perfectly. Had to return another brand, that I ordered first same exactly design (Emboidex brand) quality was horrible, completely unusable, arrived with metal spool that would even fit into the hole, a part missing and zero paperwork. Ordered this one, came the next day, everything co
mplete, perfect fit and works perfectly. It was $2 more, but for better quality, well worth the small extra!

I didn’t realize my older sewing machine couldn’t handle the small cones of thread! It took me a bit to figure out what was wrong and head to Amazon to search for the answer.
